PROJECT TIME

TEACHING INDIVIDUALS TO MASTER COMPETENCIES IN

MATHEMATICS EDUCATION

II. PROPONENT

GINA B. HABIL
Teacher 1

III. IMPLEMENTED ACTIVITIES/ INTERVENTIONS CONDUCTED

To lessen the number of non-numerates and help them to

Improve their numeracy skills and comprehension. the proponent
Conducted intervention activities, also project Time is to help all
Learners who need major support level, and anchoring level
To be promoted in developing and transforming level.

a. Math talk
The teacher presented the problem and this problem was
presented to the whole class. Students figured out the answer.
Students shared their answers and shared their thinking.
b. Math Riddle- is a remarked or question phrased purposefully
and requires creativity to determine the meaning or answer.

strategies and outcomes are defined by clear mathematical
parameters

IV. RESULTS/ FINDINGS

The selected learners with non-numerates were from different

stages. The tools used in determining the improvement of their
level of numeracy were based on ALNAT.

The Table shows that there is an improvement in the learners’

numeracy skills.

In Project TIME, we have 17 total participants. 90% of participants

reported an increased interest in Math. Positive feedback from
parents about the impact of the project. With this finding, the
proponent thought of another way to involve all intermediate pupils
in remediating numeracy skills.

A. Issues and Concerns During the Implementation.
Some issues and concerns in using math activities like riddles and
math games might be too challenging or not aligned with the
student’s current skill level, leading to frustration or
disengagement.
And if you do not have time planning math games and activities
can consume more time than anticipated.
B. Best Practices in the Implementation of the Project
By incorporating these math activities, the proponent created
a comprehensive and engaging activity that promotes effective
learning and understanding among learners.

The Math activities were engaging and well-structured. The hands-

on activities helped reinforce concepts and the real- world connect-
tions made the learning more relevant. However, incorporating more
visual aids or interactive elements could enhance under-
standing. The collaborative learning approach was effective, but
clearer guidelines for group work could improve the experience.
C. Impact of the Project

The impact of these Math activities can be assessed through

various lenses; It measured improvements in student math skills
understanding and problem-solving abilities as a direct result of
participating in the project. Evaluated the level of student
engagement during math activities to determine the project's
success in capturing interest and fostering a positive attitude
towards a subject.

These activities make learning math enjoyable.

V. RECOMMENDATIONS

Project TIME seeks additional funding and partnerships to expand

the program. Evaluate and refine the curriculum for numeracy
workshops based on participants' feedback. Enhance collaboration
with local schools for holistic education support.
Evaluation Tool Used:

The proponent used pre-- and post–-assessments to measure the

students’ understanding before and after the intervention.
