One of the biggest branded food companies in the Philippines, Century Pacific Food Inc. (CNPF)
serves a wide range of consumers, from those looking for value-for-money products to those
seeking reasonably priced luxury. Their competence lies in creating, producing, distributing, and
selling reasonably priced, nutrient-dense goods and they have a downstream focus. Based on
2022 preliminary unaudited results, CNPF achieved revenue growth of 14% year-on-year and
delivered a 16% increase versus the prior year driven by resilient domestic demand for value-for-
money goods. Century Pacific Food continues to expand amid strong prospects both in the
domestic and international markets. Its plant-based meat alternative brand UnMEAT continues to
show strong potential within the Philippines and in several foreign countries abroad. Century
Pacific Food, Inc, has now entered key international markets including the US, UAE, China,
Singapore, Australia, and parts of Europe. The company has shown that they are still actively
responsive in producing and expanding their reach internationally and that they are inventing
new ideas in the food industry. I would suggest that they keep on improving and adopt any
strategies to keep their company on the top of the food chain against other competitors in the
food industry.

Century Pacific Food is one of the largest branded food companies in the Philippines. It is
primarily engaged in the manufacturing g, marketing, and distribution of processed marine, meat,
milk, and coconut products. However, they are not the only ones in the food industry.
Competitors such as Pampanga’s best, San Miguel, Swift Foods are also one of the popular
companies in regards in the same industry. San Miguel especially was the leading packaged food
company in the Philippines. Century Pacific Food started out as a distribution and sales of
canned & processed fish products. But later, they venture out to other food products to expand
their reach to their consumers in the market. They also engaged in trading, food packaging,
dairy, and agriculture. Their target customers are the general consumers, children, families,
athletes and special dietary needs. Alternatives for Century Pacific Food can be fast food, vegan,
or plant-based food products, and possibly insect-based food products can be an option.
Technology throughout the years has improved by a big margin, to the point that lab-grown meat
is now available to the market. New competitors such as UPROOT micro farms, WTH foods can
potentially be the new big thing in the food industry since they use modern technology to provide
local communities access to healthy, fresh produce and affordable vegetables and fruits. WTH
Foods creates a 100% plant-based meat alternative and could be an alternative to meat products.
The suppliers for Century Pacific Foods are the farmers, Dairy suppliers, machinery, or
equipment’s that are used to process food and package the products in the container.
Transportation and distribution are also needed to reach other parts of the country to their
consumers. Gaining an advantage over the competition in the food industry requires thorough
knowledge of the market and current trends, potential problems of the Philippine based
companies are the state privileging of food exporting over domestic consumption, increasing
dependence on imports and transformation of human dietary staples into nonfoods.
