Crochet pattern “Goose” (20 cm)

Pattern includes:
- goose
- jumpsuit
- scarf
- hat
- bag

Materials & supplies:

1. Yarn:

- main yarn for grey goose: I used Russian yarn


"Mongolian camel. Pekhorka" 50%camel wool, 50%
acrylic yarn which weight is 100g / 300m. (you can
see recommendations and analogues of yarn in the
FAQ section)
- main yarn for white goose: YarnArt Jeans
(50g/160m).
- for legs and beak: I used Russian yarn
"Derevenskaya" weight is 100g / 250m. (you can see
recommendations and analogues of yarn in the FAQ
section)
- for brown scarf – YarnArt Jeans (50g/160m).
- for red scarf – Alize Lana Gold (100g/240m).
- for bag – YarnArt Jeans (50g/160m).
- for jumpsuit – Sandnes garn Duo (50g/124m)
- for hat - JUTE (50g/100m).

2. Hook: 1,15 mm (you can use hook of any size


which is comfortable for you)
3. 2 black beads for eyes: 4-5mm

4. White thread of any thickness for eyes

5. Buttons for jumpsuit: 5mm

6. Button for a bag: 6-7mm.

7. Fiber filling. You can use glass granulate to make


toy heavier.

8. Big tapestry needle for sewing details together

9. Pins

10. Scissors

11. Stitch marker to mark the beginning of each


round (I use black thread)

12. Pastel crayons for toning the toy


Abbreviations:

Crochet:
ch – chain
Sl st – slip stitch
Sc – single crochet
Hdc - half double crochet
Dc - double crochet
inc – increase (2sc in one st)
dec – decrease (2 st together)
R- row/round

(..) – number of stitches in a round/row


()*… – repeat instructions in brackets … times

Needles :
Edge st – edge stitch
K – knit stitch
P – purl stitch
St st – Stockinette stitch
GOOSE

Legs and body:

Use orange yarn.


First leg:
Chain 5.
Place the marker in 5th st to mark the beginning of
the row.

1 R – start from the 2nd st from the hook: inc, 2sc,


3sc in 1 st, 3sc – on the other side of the chain

Crochet around:
2 R – 10sc back loop only
3 R – (dec, 3sc)×2 (8)
4 R – (dec, 2sc)×2 (6)
5 R – 3dc, 3sl st (6)

Attention! Three double crochets should be located


strictly at the back, and the slip stitch should be in
front of the legs. The density of crocheting is
different for everyone, if necessary, make a
"shift".

6-7 R – 6sc (2Rs)

Change yarn to main color:

8 R – (2sc, inc)×2 (8)


9 R – (3sc, inc)×2 (10)
10 R – (4sc, inc)×2 (12)
11 R – (5sc, inc)×2 (14)
12 R – 8sc (do not finish the row. The working
thread should be located strictly to the right of
the leg. If necessary crochet 1 sc more or 1 sc less
if needed)

Fasten off. Cut the yarn.

Second leg, body:


Repeat rows 1-11 of right leg.

12 R – 14sc
Don`t fasten off. Make 3sc for symmetrical inner
side.

Attention: Everybody has different crochet


tension and if you see that the row ends are not
symmetrical on both legs (inner side), just crochet
1 sc more or 1 sc less if needed.

Continue: chain 4 and join the first leg with slip


stitch. Legs should turn out in such a way that their
socks are directed towards you.

Place the marker to mark the beginning of the


row.

13 R – 14 sc around the first leg, 4 sc (1 st in each


st of the chain), 14 sc around the second leg, 4sc (1

Start stuffing the legs.

Start to make decreases on the sides of the toy.


Crochet 9-10sc to move the beginning of the row,
so decreases would be evenly on the sides of the
toy. Place the marker to mark the beginning of the
row. Stuff it as you go.

Close the hole. Cut the yarn, leave tail 1-2m long.
Pull this yarn tail through the inside of the head.
Bring it to the beginning of the row. We will use it
for crocheting the neck. Stuff head with fiber.
Neck:

1 R –18 sc (around)

2-3 R – hdc, 16sc, hdc (2Rs)


4 R – 2hdc, 15sc, sl st (18)
5 R – 3hdc, 6sc, sl st (do not finish the row, the
working thread should be located at the back of the
neck)

Attention! Check yourself, the half double crochet


should be located strictly in front of the neck.

Cut the yarn leaving a long tail. Imperceptibly


stretch the working thread with a needle to the
junction of the neck with the head and carefully
sew the hole formed at the junction.

Fasten off. Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for


assembly.
Stuff neck with fiber.
Beak:

Use orange yarn.

Make 1 slst. Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for


assembly.
Fold the beak as shown in the photo:
Wings:

Use main yarn.

Flatten the wing and make 9sc, connecting the two


sides.
Fasten off. Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for
assembly.
Make 2 details.

Assembling:
1. Sew the wings to the body at the level of rows
43-44.
2. Sew body and head together “stitch to stitch”.
3. Sew the beak to the head.
4. Sew eyes to the head. Embroider eyes shadows
with white thread as shown on photo below:
5. If necessary - tone toy with brown pastel
around the eyes. Put the blush.

6. Make a head tightening - stretch the working


thread through the head in the place as shown in
the photo, and we stretch it back through the
adjacent hole. Tie the threads, hide this. Do not
overtighten.
7. Ready toy should be as on the photo below:
JUMPSUIT

Chain 13.
Leave the long tip of the yarn (1-2m) for the
straps.

1 R – start from the 2th stitch from the hook: 12sc

Next, we will crochet not in a circle, but in the


opposite direction. Turn work after each row.

2-3 R – chain 1, start from the 2th stitch from the


hook: 12 (2Rs)
4 R– chain 1, start from the 2th stitch from the
hook: inc, 10sc, inc (15)
5 R – chain 1, start from the 2th stitch from the
hook: 14sc (15)
6 R – chain 1, start from the 2th stitch from the
hook: inc, 12sc, inc (17)
7 R – chain 1, start from the 2th stitch from the
hook: 16sc (17)
Chain 44. Join the beginning and the end of the row
with slipstitch. Work in round.

8-22 R – 60sc (15 Rs)

Crochet 10-12sc to move the beginning of the row


to the center of the jumpsuit as shown in the photo:
Now we will crochet pant legs.
Count 24sts from the beginning of the row and join
first stitch of the row to 25th stitch, closing the
circle. Work 24sc on the right half of the base (in
rounds):
29 R – 24sc
30 R - (2sc, dec)×6 (18)

Make 1 slst. Cast off. Cut the yarn leaving a long tail
about 1-2 meters long. Pull the thread through the
first leg to the hole between the legs and crochet
second leg. If there is a hole left between the legs,
pull the thread through the pant leg and sew the
hole. Fasten off, cut the yarn and hide the end of
the tread.

Using a long tail that we left at the beginning, chain


34. Join it to the jumpsuit and pull the thread
through the back of the jumpsuit and chain for the
second strap. Fasten off, cut the yarn and hide the
end of the tread.

If necessary, decorate the jumpsuit with buttons,


embroidery or other accessories:
HAT

Use jute yarn.

Fasten off. Hide yarn tail inside the detail.

Using yarn of a different color, make the brim of


the hat:
BAG

Chain 10.
Place the marker in 10th st to mark the beginning of
the row.

1 R – start from the 2nd st from the hook: inc, 7sc,


3sc in 1 st, 8sc – on the other side of the chain

Crochet around:
2 R – 20sc back loop only
3-9 R – 20sc (7 Rs)
Crochet 2-3sc and move the marker to change the
start/end of the row to the left.

Next, we will crochet not in a circle, but in the


opposite direction. Turn work after each row.

10-13 R – chain 1, start from the 2th stitch from


the hook: 10sc (4 Rc)

In the center of the lid of the bag make a fastener


for a button from 7 ch.
Make a strap, for this a chain 65 and connect it to
the other side of the bag. Cast off. Cut the yarn
and hide the tail.

Sew a button in the center of the bag:


SCARF:

Cast on 70 st.
1 R – 70k
2 R – 70p
3 R – 70k

Cast off. Cut the yarn and hide the tail.
