OVERVIEW:
The School Governance Council launch the "Gulayan sa Paaralan" program under the
supervision of Primo S. Dagcuta and Ariston G. Ganzan, beginning on November 8,
2023, and concluding on April 30, 2024. This initiative aims to promote sustainable
agriculture, nutritional education, and environmental awareness within our school
community. Through the integration of a school garden, the project seeks to empower
students, teachers, and staff with practical knowledge about gardening, healthy
eating habits, and the importance of sustainable practices. The holistic learning
environment created by this program is designed to deepen understanding about food
sources, instill a sense of environmental stewardship, and highlight the value of self-
sufficiency.
The project activities will unfold within the school premises, utilizing a designated area
for the school garden. Attendees will include students, teachers, staff, and various
members of the school community. The School Governance Council will play a pivotal
role in overseeing and coordinating the program's execution, ensuring its successful
implementation from November 8, 2023, to April 30, 2024.
OBJECTIVE/S:
The project aims to:
1. Cultivate a sense of environmental responsibility and sustainability among
students.
2. Educate students about the importance of nutrition and healthy eating habits.
3. Provide hands-on learning experiences related to gardening and agricultural
practices.
ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED:
The main activities to be conducted for this project are:
1. Garden Establishment and Design (MA1)
a. Clearing and preparing the designated garden area.
b. Designing the garden layout with a focus on maximizing space and
aesthetics.
2. Planting and Maintenance Workshops (MA2)
a. Conducting workshops on planting techniques and maintenance
practices.
b. Demonstrating the proper use of recycled containers, bamboo
materials, and soil plots.
3. Technology Showcase and Workshops (MA3)
a. Showcasing bio-intensive gardening methods.
