HOOK (15 Minutes)

Hello. Good morning mga kapatid. Kamusta na kayong lahat. Sana lahat tayo ay healthy at malakas. Praise
God ulit at Friday na naman. Welcome to our service. Kung napapansin ninyo, meron na tayong bagong
Youtube channel. Please subscribe. At meron din tayong bagong series! Praise God. Natapos na natin ang
ating DEVOTED series.
physically with the church, and we are away from each other, we are never far away from God. We need
to be devoted – meaning hindi napipigilan ng kahit anong sitwasyon o pagkakataon ang pakikipag-
ugnayan natin sa Panginoon. Sabi sa Bible, God is everywhere kaya wala tayong limitasyon sa paglapit sa
Kanya.
That’s why we encourage you to pray more, read more and seek God more. Amen?

Kaya ngayon mga kapatid, welcome to our new season.
ay “new normal”.
Niya. We have a new series entitled “Perfect Ten”.
pelikula, kapag sinabing 10 out of 10, ibig sabihin, napakaganda ng movie na yun. Our series is all about
the 10 Commandments of God. I’m sure familiar dito ang karamihan sa atin. We believe that God’s
commandments are perfect commandments. Amen?

You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. (Matthew 5:48 ESV)

Nobody is perfect. Yan ang madalas nating naririnig. You know what? God knows that. God knows we
aren’t perfect. But He wants us to keep trying. Nowadays, many people are not trying anymore. “Gagawin
If you are a Bible-
believing Christian, you will know that from cover-to-cover, the Bible is telling us to pursue holiness and
perfection. God’s law is perfect. While we can never really be 100% obedient, we still need to try because
we love God.

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. (John 14:15 ESV)

Most of the times, ang tingin natin sa Christianity ay parang isang feel-good experience lang. “Lord, bless
me, comfort me, provide for me, give me love, keep me safe.” Pero hindi lang ganito ang pagiging
Kristyano. We are Christ’s followers, so we should follow Christ’s obedience to His Father. Jesus kept
God’s commandments. To keep God’s commandments is to know what’s wrong and what’s right. Alamin
Amen? Simple logic at common sense. If you want your life to be
right, do what’s right. So that in the end, masasabi natin na “Lord, tama yung sinabi Mo. Buti sumunod
ako.”
gusto nating malaman as we go through this series. Amen.

BOOK (30 Minutes) Exodus 20:1-3

And God spoke all these words, saying, "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of
Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me." (Exodus 20:1-3 ESV)

This is the first commandment.
physical book or Bible App, mostly in the old testament, the word “LORD” is written in all capital letters. In
the Hebrew Bible, it is spelled as YHWH (Yahweh or Jehovah). This is the specific Name of the God of
Israel. So kapag nakakita ka ng LORD na allcaps sa Bible, Yahweh yun – the specific Name of God. Our God
is not Allah nor Buddha nor Shiva.
The answer is YHWH – Yahweh, which means “I am who I
am.” It means God’s Name proves that God is the beginning and the end. He is the Creator of all things.

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. (Deuteronomy 6:4 ESV)

There is no other God than Yahweh. There should be no other gods in our lives/ Other gods can be
anything or anyone that takes God's place. Example: Worshiping mythological characters such as Zeus,
Venus, Aris, etc. / Believing in other religions’ practices like Feng Shui, Spirit of the Glass, carved images /
Excessive adoration towards famous people / Excessive attention and obsession towards a person
(family / spouse / boyfriend or girlfriend). When these examples become your reason for living, you are
committing idolatry. There is no other God because other gods are just created from man’s imagination.
Other gods are fake gods. The LORD (Yahweh) is real and powerful.

THREE THINGS THAT CONFIRM THAT THE LORD IS OUR GOD

1. Only the LORD Can Give Us Our Identity

"I am the LORD your God, (Exodus 20:2a ESV)

Ang sabi ni Lord, second verse pa lang, “I am the LORD your God.” He is God. He is the Creator of
all things. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present. Yet, He allows us or He gives us
permission to call Him ours. God is “our” God. God is telling us right now, “I am yours. Sa iyo Ako.
We’re on the same side. I am your Father, you are my child!” Amen?

The Name of the LORD “Yahweh” means “I AM WHO I AM”. God is who He is. It’s not complicated.
He knows His identity. God knows who He is and we are who God says who we are. Hindi ba’t may
kinakanta tayo na “I am who You say I am…” God defines who we are. It’s not us who define who
God is. It’s not us who define who we are. God defines who we are. Our identity is found in the
true God because He is the One who created us in His own image. Ginawa tayo Niya tayo na
kawangis Niya. Amen?
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I
am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. (Psalm
139:13-14 ESV)

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he
created them. (Genesis 1:27 ESV)

Nalilito pa ba tayo? God created what? Male and female. Don’t be confused, kapatid. Your identity
is found in God. Don't let the world define who you are because God had already decided who you
are.

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of
God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
(John 1:12-13 ESV)

ang Panginoong Hesus, we became children of God. He gave us the right (karapatan). May
Big time ang
Tatay natin. At nakikinig Siya tuwing tumatawag tayo sa Kanya.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I
appointed you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5 ESV)

We are God’s children. Amen?
Hehehe… I
hope we take seriously our God-given identity. God is our Father and we should really act like His
children. Amen?

Lalo na ngayon sa social media. Kung ano-ano ang name-calling na nangyayari. DDS kasi yan kaya
ganyan. Dilawan kasi yan kaya ganyan. Usong-uso yan. Mas naa-associate pa sa ibang
personalities. Politics man, or showbiz. DDS, Dilawan, Sharonian, Vilmanian. I’d rather be called a
Christian.

So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live
according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you
will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit
of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we
cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in
order that we may also be glorified with him. (Romans 8:12-16 ESV)

2. Only the LORD Can Give Us Security

"I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
You shall have no other gods before me." (Exodus 20:2-3 ESV)

When the Israelites were rescued by God from Egypt, He didn’t just rescue them and then
abandon them. God made sure to take care of them. Iniligtas sila ng Panginoon mula sa pagka-
alipin nila at binigyan sila ng bagong identity bilang bayan ng Diyos. Siyempre bilang isang bayang
Tandaan natin ang sinabi Niya sa Jeremiah 29:11 that His plan is for our good
and not to harm us. God works for our good and not our destruction.

for you shall worship no other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God (Exodus
34:14 ESV)

The Bible says God is a jealous God. Does that mean na insecure si Lord? Of course not. God is a
jealous God, but He is not insecure.
God wants us to worship Him only, not because He is insecure, but because WE ARE
INSECURE. Tayo ang insecure hindi ang Panginoon. God feels bad when we prioritize other things
more than Him. As our Father, God knows that we cannot find security in other things or other
people.

Nauubos at nabubulok. Another kind of false god is our excessive fascination with the world
(obsession with money / finding approval from other people / going after power, fame and
fortune). These are all temporary things, but the one true God is eternal. Let's focus on eternity.

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves
break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust
destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart
will be also. (Matthew 6:19-21 ESV)

Sa love life? “Kapag nagka-boyfriend /
girlfriend na ako, magiging masaya na ako.” “Kapag nakapag-asawa na ako, magiging kumpleto na
ang buhay ko.” Let’s think about this ha. Every person is imperfect.
Negative plus negative doesn’t make the
answer positive. -1 + -1 = -2. Sabi ni Tom Cruise sa Jerry Maguire, “You complete me.” While it may
sound sweet, it is very wrong. No other person can complete us except Jesus Christ. That’s why,
singles, when you decide to enter a relationship, make sure that you follow God first.

Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come
from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in
Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union
with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. (Colossians 2:8-10 NLT)
We need to worship only the LORD, the one true God, the God who makes miracles, because He is
the only one who can give us security. Amen?

3. Only the LORD Can Give Us Salvation

"I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
You shall have no other gods before me." (Exodus 20:2-3 ESV)

The Israelites were slaves in Egypt, but they were rescued by the LORD, and sent them to the
Promised Land. In the same way, we were slaves of our sinful nature. But God is willing to rescue
us and lead us toward a righteous life, at makakasigurado tayo na ang patutunguhan natin ay
langit.

Only the one true God can ensure us that after our life here on earth, we will spend eternity with
Him in heaven. First and foremost, God, our Father is always motivated with love. Kaya nga
Christianity is the only religion where salvation is based on a love relationship between God and
human. Ang galing ‘di ba? Kaya nga when King David wrote the Psalms, when he talks about
salvation, he talks about it in a loving and thankful way.

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of
whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1 ESV)

“Si Yahweh ang kaligtasan ko! Bakit ako matatakot?” Other religions teach that salvation is based
on condition (human sacrifice / number of prayers per day / good deeds) but real salvation is by
grace through faith.
madalas kang manalangin. Maliligtas ka dahil mahal ka ng Diyos. Yun lang.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were
dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved
(Ephesians 2:4-5 ESV)

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of
God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV)

Malinaw yan. Amen? Not by good deeds. God knows
that good deeds are not enough to save us, so He made a way. The LORD sent our Lord, Jesus
Christ, to take away our sins because of His great love. And if you just believe this and accept Jesus
Christ as Lord and Savior, you will be saved. No other god can claim this. Other religions will
require you to be religious – works and rituals. Christianity just requires us to rely on God for our
salvation.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not
spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all
things? (Romans 8:31-32 ESV)
Ano daw? God is for us.
kasalanan natin. And if He is generous enough to give us salvation, won’t He be also generous
enough to give us the things that we need? Amen? No other god can promise us this, because
really, there is no other god.

And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have
sent. (John 17:3 ESV)

LOOK (5 Minutes)

Reflective Questions:

3. Is there something or someone that is taking God’s place in your heart?
hakbang?
6. Do you put your trust in the one true God?
7. Do you find your identity, security and salvation in the Lord?

TOOK (5 Minutes)

“This is what the LORD says— Israel’s King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the first and I am the
last; apart from me there is no God. Who then is like me? Let him proclaim it. Let him declare and lay out
before me what has happened since I established my ancient people, and what is yet to come— yes, let
them foretell what will come. (Isaiah 44:6-7 NIV)

nagawa sya, sabihin niya.” Pero wala na. There is no other God but the LORD. Everything was just man-
made ideas and illusions. These so-called gods are imaginary. They have no power. Only the one true God
has the power. The God that we worship created the universe. The God that we worship knows the
deepest desires of our hearts. The best thing about the God that we worship, is that He knows our
greatest need – the salvation of our souls. This powerful God was willing to send us His one and only Son
to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. So that in the end, we can come to him, not only as His people,
but as His sons and daughters. He loves us and wants us to call Him, our Father.
at pagsamba? Amen.
