Now that you have experienced interpreting and performing the different dance steps,
you are no ready to make your own dance step combinations as warm-up, activity and further
have mastery on them. But do you know how to o about this activity?
1. Select/choose the music that you are going to use. Be sure that you know the time
signature or the rhythm of the music.
2. Listen to your music and count how many measures are there in all.
3. If you music is in 2/4 time signature select all the dance steps having this time signature
and group them together. If it is in ¾ time signatures select all the dance steps having
this time signature and combine or group them also together.
4. Decide how many dance step combinations you can make in one figure and how many
figure you can make in all base on the number of measure you have counted in you
music
5. To be safe each figure should have equal number of counts or measure.
6. Start you combinations from the simplest steps to the most complex dance steps.
7. Notate your combinations and practice the different figures with the music to be sure if
the combinations suit you music.
8. The most practical way is to make use of your critical thinking on how to go about this
activity.
