Student Loan
Discussion
I am preparing to leave New Zealand for an extended period of time, during which I still have outstanding
amounts owing on my student loan.
If anyone has experience with a similar situation, I would greatly appreciate your feedback on what my
obligations are in relation to repayments whilst I am overseas.

When you're based overseas, you'll need to make minimum repayments on your student loan or
apply for a temporary repayment suspension. You'll also need to be aware of how to make
payments from overseas. You can get someone to act on your behalf here in New Zealand.
