ACTIVITY
III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary/Preparatory Activities
1. Drill (Pictures)
Show the pictures

Horizontal line Vertical line (The pupils will identify

the lines)

Diagonal line

(horizontal, vertical,
diagonal and curve line)

2. Review
 Do you still remember the topic yesterday?
 What is shape?
 Give some examples of shape.
 Do shapes have lines?

B. Developmental Activities
1. Motivation
 Present a picture of a house
Ask :* what can you say about the
picture?
*do you see any lines?
*what are those lines?
2.Unlocking of difficulties

Lines - a straight one- dimensional figure having no thickness and

extended infinitely in both directions.

Intersect- to meet across at a point. (everybody will read)

3.Presentation of the lesson

-Our lesson for today is all about the kinds

of line

3. Discussion

Kinds of lines

Parallel lines- are lines that do not intersect even when extended
in either direction..

Example:

1. A B

C D

E I K

G
F
J L
H
(The pupils listen as the
teacher explains the
lesson.)
Intersecting lines-lines that meet or intersect at a
point.

Example:

Perpendicular lines-lines that intersect and form right angle.

Example:

2. Generalization
*what is parallel lines?
*how about the intersect lines and
perpendicular lines?
* what are the difference of intersecting
and perpendicular lines?
*Look around the classroom. Can you find
any objects or shapes that have
a parallel, intersecting and perpendicular
lines?

3. Application (Printed)
*Group the pupils into 3
Group 1. “Explore the Space”
Direction:Look at the grid and write the 2 pairs of lines you see
below.

(Intersecting lines)
AZ and LM lines
Group 2 Direction: Identify which are the parallel,
intersecting and perpendicular lines by coloring it. (Parallel lines)
Parallel lines will be colored be blue, Intersecting XP and RO lines
line will be colored be red, Perpendicular lines will be
colored be yellow. (Perpendicular lines)
LM and RO lines

Group 3. Direction: Classify whether pairs of lines are parallel,

intersecting, and perpendicular lines.
IV. Evaluation

V. Assignment
Draw a house using the kinds of lines and
label it.
