What is Needs analysis?

Needs Analysis refers to the systematic process of gathering
information and determining the gaps between the current
knowledge, skills, and abilities and the desired or required
conditions to inform the development of an instructional solution.
It's a foundational step in the instructional design process to
ensure that learning interventions are aligned with the learners'
needs and the instructional goals and objectives.
