General Guidelines and Mechanics of the
HIP-HOP DANCE COMPETITION
Contest Guidelines
1. The competition is open to all bonafide learners of Carael National High School.
2. Every grade level should have a minimum of seven (7) and a maximum of ten (10) members.
3. The dance duration should be at least three (3) minutes and a maximum of five (5) minutes,
including the entrance and exit.
4. Music pieces shall be submitted prior to the competition proper.
5. Appropriate attire must be worn by all members. Removing pieces of clothing during the
performance is permitted provided it is not offensive or out of character.
6. Any kind of hip-hop dance is allowed (locking, popping, krumping, house, stepping, breakdance,
whacking, tutting, vogueing, party dances, hip-hop choreography) or any kind of dance with hip-hop
as their focal thoughts of choreography.
7. The criteria for judging one are as follows:
 Choreography (50%)
 Performance (30%)
 Costume (15%)
 Audience Impact (5%)
8. There will be three (3) winners to be awarded.
 Champion
 1st Runner up
 2nd Runner up
9. The decision of judges is final and irrevocable.
