ASEAN Cybersecurity Cooperation Strategy Brief
The ASEAN Cybersecurity Cooperation Strategy outlines the collective efforts of the
Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member states to address cybersecurity
challenges and promote a secure and resilient cyberspace in the region. The strategy focuses
on enhancing cooperation, capacity building, information sharing, and policy development
among ASEAN member states and their partners.
Objectives of the ASEAN Cybersecurity Cooperation Strategy:
1. Enhancing Regional Cybersecurity Cooperation: Foster closer collaboration
among ASEAN member states to address common cybersecurity challenges and
promote a unified approach in tackling cyber threats.
2. Developing Cybersecurity Policies and Regulations: Encourage the development
and implementation of comprehensive cybersecurity policies, regulations, and legal
frameworks by ASEAN member states to ensure consistency and effectiveness in
addressing cyber threats.
3. Promoting Cybersecurity Capacity Building: Enhance the cybersecurity
capabilities and skills of ASEAN member states through capacity building programs,
training, and knowledge sharing initiatives.
4. Facilitating Information Sharing: Develop mechanisms for the timely and efficient
exchange of information and best practices among ASEAN member states to prevent
and respond to cyber incidents effectively.
5. Strengthening International Cooperation: Collaborate with international partners,
organizations, and forums to foster information sharing, encourage technology
transfer, and promote best practices in cybersecurity.
