Subject: Regarding Request for Extension of Winter Semester 2024 Registration Deadline

Respected Sir,
With due regard to your esteemed authority, we, the student representatives of A.B.V.P. from the Jawaharlal
Nehru University wish to draw your attention towards the pressing demand of students community for the
extension of last date of Winter Semester 2024 Registration of the students of Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Students are encountering substantial challenges in the semester registration primarily related to technical
glitches in the JNU cashless portal for fee payment and delays in obtaining clearances from hostels, causing
anxiety, and jeopardizing timely Winter session registration. Moreover, the hostel clearance process is facing
delays due to shortage of staffs and the overwhelming number of students seeking clearance within the
designated timeframe of January 8th to 12th. The current harsh cold weather and train and flight delays for the
students returning from various parts of India, have compounded the problem, leading many students to miss
the original registration deadlinc.

Given the magnitude of these challenges, we sincerely urge your intervention and extend the deadline for
registration of Winter Semester 2024 at least till 19h January 2024, to alleviate stress and ensure every
eligible student can register without undue difliculties. This extension would afford students the necessary
time to address technical issues in fee payment and ensure a more streamlined and equitable hostel clearance
process. Your prompt action in addressing these concems is highly anticipated. We request you to pay heed
towards our demand in the largest interest of the student community and take necessary action on priority and
urgent basis.
