Submission Format

The researcher should write a scientific report and adhere to the criteria of scientific writing in terms
of the main elements of the research: (introduction, general discussion, conclusion and results,
sources and references, index). The researcher should refer to at least five references. The
information contained in the report must be documented. The researcher's personality and ability to
understand, accommodate, present, discuss, analyse and inconclusion must be shown. The
researcher must present the most important elements of the report in a presentation that he
discusses with colleagues in the lecture.

The assignment comprises research, writing a report, in-class assessment, and a


presentation. Students are expected to make active participation during lectures.

First Report:
Students should respond to assessment remarks on the Visual Presentation, and prepare a report:

1. A4 format, 15 pages. (Simplified Arabic 14).


2. The report should be structured as follows:

3. Any images, graphics, or text that is derived from other sources must be correctly referenced

Assignment Brief and Guidance


You are a researcher at an academic institution focusing on the history of Jerusalem,
and you are asked to prepare an academic study on the city of Jerusalem, regarding
the following themes:

1- A glimpse of Jerusalem geography, location, borders, population, climate


and topography, water resources, the origin and meaning of the
name ‘Al-Quds” Jerusalem.
2- The status and importance of Jerusalem in prehistoric (ancient) times (3000-332
B.C.) & A synopsis about the Canaanites and Jebusites and their role in building
Jerusalem.
3- The importance of Jerusalem in the periods of Islamic history.
