- Set A and Set C are considered as rhyming words while set B is not.

Ask questions about the nursery rhymes “Once I Caught A Fish Alive”

a. What is the last word in line 1?


b. What is the last word in line 2?
c. What is the last word in line 3?
d. What is the last word in line 4?
e. What is the last word in line 5?
f. What is the last word in line 6?
g. What is the last word in line 7?
h. What is the last word in line 8?
i. Do they all have the same sounds?
j. Which part of the word has the same sound? Is it on the beginning,
middle or ending?
k. What do you call the words with the same ending sound?

Rhyming words are words with the same ending sounds.

Direction: Read carefully the poem. Identify the words that sounds the same and write
your answers on the paper.

When I am very sad.
