Where in the World?

When we describe places we can describe them in two ways. We can describe how
we emotionally feel, like worried or excited, and what we physically sense, like
what we see and hear.

See if you can match these places from their descriptions:

Anne is somewhere dark and chilly. She can hear water
dripping and the walls are rough and damp.
Anne is exploring feels excited and curious.
Brian is somewhere where he can see lots of different
plants. He feels comfortable and relaxed and is sipping
lemonade.
Kirsty is somewhere warm and steamy. There are lots of
delicious smells and people around her are busy working.
Kirsty is getting hungry.
Restaurant Kitchen? Cave? Back Garden?

Think of a place you know well, like your classroom, grandparent's house or a den
in the woods (if you have one). Don't write what it is, see if we can guess!
Write how this place makes you feel. Does it make you feel scared? Comfortable?
Hungry? Thoughtful?

How does this place affect your senses? Is it warm and stuffy, windy, dark or
bright, loud? What does the ground feel like? Is it soft like grass or cold like stone?

Finally, what sort of things do you do there?
