How do I define

success?

01. IN THE PAST

I defined success as something very
flashy. Success for me used to be
reputation, social status, money and
relationships. A successful person in
my eyes must be a person with
outstanding achievements, known and
respected by many people or a
person who is able to buy luxurious
items without hesitation.
Since I always dreamed of glamor,
I constantly changed my ideal
model. When I turned to high
school, I watched a video of Amy
Cuddy, a female professor of
Harvard University in Ted Talk by
accident. I desired to be a woman
who can influence each other.

Not long after that, I saw an

article about Emma Watson whose
speech on gender equality inspired
millions of women around the
world and then I wanted to
become a person like her.

Perhaps that’s why for me at

the age of 16 that year, success
was getting into a prestigious
university and studying a major
with the highest entry score.

Success is
Happiness

02. AT PRESENT
After graduating high school, I had a huge change
in perception about the definition of success.
Success is happiness.
Happiness for me is being able to
do what I want and what I choose.
I want to work in financial
management. Since childhood, I
have always managed my daily
expenses and I still keep that
habit until now. My dream is to
become a financial manager and
work for Sun Group, where my
father is working. Every day I
heard him talk about that
corporation and it seemed like I
was convinced. I want to be part
of Sun group!

I want to live my own life. There's

a quote that I keep coming back to,
by RM of BTS: “Even if you’re not
perfect you’re limited edition.“ I
have to become a version of
myself that does not mix with
anyone else.

And most of all, I want to

become a woman with enough
financial resources to take care
of my family. My parents have
spent a huge amount of money
investing in me, it's time for them
to get their reward back.

All the things I just listed are the things that make me
happy. So if I complete each one, I am gradually reaching
my life's achievement.
Success is
Happiness

03. THE LAST WORD

But all of the above is just an
image of the finished version I
want to aim for. To become such a
person, I must achieve each small
and large goal.
I have painted a brilliant future
for myself but didn't know how to
reach it.

And luckily I had the opportunity to take your PDP class. You
help me gain my self-awareness by asking questions like who
am I and what are your smart goals. You helped me boldly
speak up about my career goals for the first time. I want to
send a thank you to you, Mr. Alex.

I have had a new perspective on

success and have started planning
my career.
I'm ready to become the happiest
person in the world.
