The MSM8916.LA.1.0 CTA release officially enables the ‘start tuning’ phase for camera
projects. At this point, customers planning to begin color tuning are expected to:
Have carefully reviewed all information presented in the camera pre-kickoff announcement
Work with their sourcing team to review 00028471 and make the camera selection that best
aligns with the project schedule
Have had official “Camera Project Kickoff” discussion with QTI TAMs and Camera
Customer Engineering teams to discuss the following items, identify any risks and discuss the
mitigation plan:
Camera module source selections, along with the information on module composition
(part numbers for lens, IR Cut-Filter, Actuator, Actuator IC, flash, flash IC, etc.),
calibration plans/requirements
Ownership agreement (e.g., customer/module vendor, third party, QTI, etc.) for various
stages of driver development and tuning referred in 00028471 , and setup the process on
how QTI would be timely updated about the overall health of the project all the way up to
the product launch, to avoid last minute project risks.
Overall project and camera specific schedule/milestones
Customer’s KPI specs, numeric and subjective Image Quality specs
Parity between MSM8916™ camera features and customer project’s mandatory features
Have completed camera bring up for their target, and verified preview, snapshot, recording
functionalities
