1. What was "Water-less" Initiative?
Water Less is an initiative implemented
by Levi Strauss & Co that consists in the
maintenance of production processes but
with new techniques that allow to
manage the water, used in the process, in
a more sustainable way.
In addition, the quality of the garments is
preserved by manufacturing them with
less water use. Therefore the extreme
amounts that were consumed are
reduced.

did the company want to achieve?

Reduce its environmental impact, focusing on

Reduce its dependence on water in its
production processes
Make factories and independent entities, that
are part of the production process of Levi's at
any stage, work according to sustainability
standards such as the acquisition of materials
such as cotton.

Cotton cultivation (68% consume of water)

Fabrication process:
- Several wet process in one
- Ozone in the washing of the fabrics
- Reduce the consumption of water in "stone washing"
