As a Ph.D. student specializing in digital communication, coding theory, machine learning, and information theory, I’m
dedicated to advancing these fields and applying my expertise to address real-world challenges. My focus is leveraging error
correction coding to develop wiretap coding using software-defined radio (SDR) that enhances the physical layer security of
communication systems.

Recent Work Experience

Graduate Research Assistant January 2021 — Present
Information Theory and Communications Engineering Lab, Brigham Young University Provo, UT, USA
• Developing a software-defined radio-based communication system to enhance physical layer security using wiretap coding.
• Implemented a deep neural network-based mutual information estimator to calculate information leakage between
channel output and the transmitted signal.
• Developing a coset-based wiretap coding scheme to protect against information leakage of up to 4 bits.
Graduate Research Assistant September 2017 – August 2019
Information Dynamics Lab, Utah State University Logan, UT, USA
• Developed and analyzed a novel error control code employed within signal constellation and a trellis-based decoder.
• Conducted extensive simulations to evaluate the performance of a generalized M-ary QAM system with variable rate
encoding, showcasing a significant 5.5 dB coding gain over uncoded 64-QAM modulation.

Project Summary
Wiretap Coding using Software-Defined Radio Python, Matlab
• Implemented LDPC and Reed-Muller codes with BPSK modulation on ADALM Pluto SDR, incorporating carrier
synchronization, and achieving phase and timing synchronization for communication systems.
Pattern Recognition Multimethod Analysis for Static Data Python
• Conducted a comprehensive study on pattern recognition using Linear, Logistic, and Quadratic Regression, Linear and
Quadratic Discriminant Analysis, K-nearest neighbor, Naive Bayes, and the Optimal Bayes classifier. Evaluated the
performance of these methods on static data, contributing to a better understanding of their applicability in diverse
recognition scenarios.
Implementation of Kalman Filters and Particle Filter Matlab
• Implemented and compared Discrete and Continuous Time Kalman Filters, Extended Kalman Filter, and Particle Filter
for state estimation and tracking for noise-driven dynamic systems.
