About Bakliwal Tutorials

Bakliwal Tutorials (BT) was started in March 2005 with the aim of helping students
preparing for IIT-JEE realize their dreams and make sure that the preparation process
itself becomes a fun-filled and growth involving experience. The institute is successfully
doing so and is now training more than 2500 students across various courses &
centers. In the last 18 years, more than 1600 students from BT have cleared IIT-JEE
(now JEE-Advanced).

Year after year, in JEE, the number of selections in the top 1000/ 2000/ 5000/ 10000
ranks and overall from BT is substantially more than any other institute in Pune. Our
success ratio is one of the best amongst all the institutes across the country.

Amongst the JEE training institutes in the country, BT has become synonymous
with ethics and transparency. We are the only institute in the entire country, that
gives contact details of all its JEE Advanced qualified students on its website. All
our qualified students have been our regular classroom students, and not
distance learning, test series or crash course students.

We earnestly request parents to objectively compare the results of institutes by visiting

the results pages of their websites and not fall for marketing blitzkrieg.

What makes BT different?

I began my journey in BT in the 9th grade. All
the small things about BT are memorable,
from the logic classes and whizzkid exam to
the innovative and relaxed way of teaching.
Knowledgeable and friendly teachers guided
me on this journey, while the academics team
designed syllabus, relevant tests that were
Pratik Sahoo milestones on the road to JEE Advanced.

About Foundation Course

The Foundation course at BT is thoughtfully designed to help students crack quality
competitive exams. The Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics lectures and the
corresponding assignment sheets are carefully planned to help early generation of
interests in these subjects. The logic lectures further facilitate in developing the students
analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The Coding lectures will also ensure that
students understand the basic concepts of coding at this early age itself, thereby giving
them a competitive edge.

We have also added Biology subject in the Foundation course this year, as an additional
option (details of the same is mentioned ahead in this leaflet).

At BT, we offer 2 lectures per week in the Foundation course. Each lecture will be of 3
hours duration, with a 15 mins break in between. In addition to these 2 lectures per week,
few special lectures will also be conducted for preparation of important exams like
Homi Bhabha, NTSE, Junior Science Olympiads and PRMO etc.

Foundation course formats:

The Foundation course is offered in 3 formats:
1. Foundation Offline (Completely Offline)
2. Foundation Synergy (Offline + Online)
3. Foundation Online (Completely Online)
1. Foundation Offline:
In this format, both the lectures per week will be conducted in classroom coaching mode
(offline mode). The student can choose a center of his/her choice (out of the options
available in this format in his/her merit-wise category).

2. Foundation Synergy:
In this format, every week, 1 lecture will be conducted in classroom coaching mode and 1
lecture will be conducted in online mode. Online lectures are live lectures as per the
batch timing, which the students can attend from the comfort of their homes. For
classroom lectures, the student can choose a center of his/her choice (out of the options
available in this format in his merit-wise category).

3. Foundation Online:
In this format, both the lectures per week will be conducted in online mode. At BT, the
online lectures are live and also lively where students participate via chat and by un-
muting themselves responsibly.

* If students wish, they will be allowed to shift from one format to another anytime
during the course basis seat availability. *

Types of Batches:
Getting the best students together is one of the attributes that is common across all the
top rank producing institutes in the country. The concept of 'merit wise batches' allows
students to study with their peers of relatively similar preparedness. This maximizes the
personal growth of students and even the teachers are able to plan their lectures well.
This also creates a spirit of positive & healthy competition among the students.

Types of Batches: In the Foundation course, there are 3 types of batches.

1. Wizards - Students who perform exceptionally well in the entrance exam are selected
for the Wizards batch. There shall only be 1 Wizards batch, consisting of top 40-45
students.

2. Champions of Champions (COC) - Students who perform very well in the entrance
exam are selected for the COC batch.

3. Champions - The next set of students who perform well get selected for the
Champions batch.

Students who do not perform even up to a bare minimum level are not offered admission.

To begin with, students will be allotted batches as per their performance in the entrance
exam. In the Foundation course, after every 8 weeks, we conduct a BTest. Based on the
performance in this BTest, batches shall be re-allotted to students after BTest-1 & BTest-3
on merit maintaining their location preferences.

Course Material & Online testing platform

BT provides its own course material and recommends a few books for additional study
which the student needs to arrange. It also provides an online testing platform which is
used to conduct various practice tests and online BTests (once every 8 weeks). This
Online platform provides a detailed & personalised analysis of the student’s performance
like time spent to solve each question, subject wise comparison with toppers, topic wise
strength & weaknesses etc. giving vital inputs for improvement in the examination
technique.

Students opting for Completely offline or synergy format will be requested to collect the
study material from their nearest BT center in Pune.

Students opting for completely online format will get the study material via courier free of
cost (within India). Overseas students will be expected to bear the courier charges.
Doubt clearing platforms:
Apart from doubts discussed during the lecture, there will be various ways through which
students can get their doubts cleared. Following are the platforms which student can use
for the same:

1. After the lecture

Teachers are available for doubt discussion after the lecture (both in online and offline
lecture) for some time. Students can make use of this extra time to interact with teachers
personally and get their doubts solved. Parents may also briefly meet the teachers after
the lecture.

2. Doubt sessions
In addition to the regular lectures, separate doubt sessions (both online & offline) are
also conducted regularly of higher duration. In such doubt sessions too, students can
interact with the teacher on a one-to-one basis and get their doubts cleared.

3. Doubt Forum
Bakliwal Tutorials has an interactive doubt forum with exciting features where students
can post their doubts and also solve the doubts of other students. Teachers also provide
detailed video solutions of the doubts in the forum. The questions are easily searchable
and are systematically available for reference and learning. Despite being a closed
forum, meant exclusively for BT students, BT's forum is amongst the top results in
Google search.

4. Telegram group
Official Telegram groups (similar to WhatsApp groups) are created batch-wise with the
sole purpose of doubts discussion. Students can post their doubts in that group and
fellow batch mates along with teachers will participate to solve the same. This helps
students to get instant solutions to most of their doubts at almost any time of the day.

FAQs For Foundation Basic Course

Q1. Why different batch for COC and Champions?
Ans. Getting the best students together is one of the attributes that is common across
all the top rank producing institutes throughout the country. The concept of ‘COC and
Champions’ batches, allows students to study with peers of approximately the same
preparation level. This helps students to learn more and even the teachers are able to
plan their lectures well.
Q2. How is the admission to the COC batch decided?
Ans. To begin with the admission to the 'COC' batch at BT is decided on the basis of our
entrance exam. But after every offline BTest, there is shuffling and the fresh set of toppers
are selected to attend lectures in the 'COC' batch.

Q3. What after the completion of Basic Foundation course?

Ans. After successful completion of the Foundation (Basic) course, the selected students
based on merit are given admission for the Foundation Advanced course. Foundation
Advanced Course is not offered at all centers.

Q4. What about students who do not qualify for the Foundation Advanced course?
Ans. We strongly recommended that they should repeat the Foundation Basic course
and strengthen their fundamentals. For students who narrowly miss selection to
Foundation Advanced we organize a 7 days camp. An exam is conducted on the last day
of the camp to select few more students.

Q5. What after the Foundation Advanced course?

Ans. The students going to 11th std. then, should join our 2 year comprehensive course.
For the students going to 10th std then, they are advised to join our 7 month course -
Foundation Advanced plus. This course keeps them in sync with JEE preparation and
make them ready for the 2 yr Comprehensive course from the next year.

Q6. Why same course for 8th and 9th going students?
Ans. The topics selected in Foundation Basic course do not follow any particular std's
syllabus. It is mostly a mix of 8th and 9th std topics. The way we teach at BT is different
from most schools. In this course, we teach all the topics with an objective of improving
thinking abilities of the child. Students with just 1 year difference are comfortably able to
study together and understand what has been taught in the class.

Q7. We have heard that BT encourages few outstanding students from 9th/10th std
to attend 1 subject out of P/C/M with 11th std students. Is that true?
Ans. Yes, this course is called the 'Special Comprehensive course'. Many top rankers
from BT have benefitted from this concept. For example, Vedang Asgaonkar (JEE Adv
2020, AIR 7), Omkar Thakoor (IIT-JEE 2010, AIR 11), Soham Joshi (JEE Adv 2021, AIR
46), Vedant Talegaonkar (JEE Adv 2022, AIR 89), Kalpesh Krishna (JEE Adv 2014, AIR
93), Shlok Pande (JEE Adv 2021, AIR 94), Shubhranil C.(JEE Adv 2021, AIR 157), Sahil
Agrawal (IITJEE 2010, AIR 176), T. Akshay (JEE Adv 2016, AIR 182) & Arnhav Datar
(JEE Adv 2018, AIR 200) are few toppers who had benefitted from this concept. In fact,
all of them except Vedant Talegaonkar cleared Physics Olympiad 1st round as well, with
Soham, Vedang, Omkar, Sahil, Arnhav & T.Akshay cleared 2nd round also.Top students
of the Foundation Basic course (based on their performance in BTests) are offered this
special program next year after the Foundation Basic course is completed.
