Context of the Study: Gaining an Appreciation of the Lives of Students Who Have Parents Who Work Abroad

In recent years, parents working abroad has become a more common occurrence, especially in nations like the
Philippines. Many parents in the Philippines have left their children behind to pursue jobs overseas due to
economic opportunities and the desire for a better living. The wellbeing and academic achievement of the
children left behind are significantly impacted by this trend.
Students whose parents work abroad have distinct and intricate experiences. Because of their physical separation
from their parents, these kids frequently struggle in their emotional, social, and intellectual lives. The lack of a
parental figure in their day-to-day existence can cause them to feel depressed, lonely, and lonely. They could
find it difficult to have a solid family.
