IMPORTANT:
If you do not intend to remove the cab, the cab must be tilted down again after the range transmission has
been removed.
Before removing the final drive housing, check that the cab or 4-post ROPS is secured at the front two cab
mountings. Then take the bolts out of the rear cab mountings. Raise the rear end of the cab and use wooden
blocks to support it on the main frame.
NOTE:
To perform the jobs outlined below, it is first necessary to remove the operator's cab or 4-post ROPS.
See Section 90, Group 00 or 01.

some grease to the underside of the screw heads. Make absolutely certain that the rubber section does not become
skewed.
New screws are coated with a special adhesive, which takes about 5 hours to harden. Do not operate the tractor until the
adhesive has hardened.

Remove the charge pump, or the installation plate in the case of SE tractors (this is not necessary if the pump
drive has been repaired).
2. Remove plug. Use puller KJD10173 (B) to extract first the PTO drive shaft (A) and then the pump drive shaft from
the housing (this is not necessary if the pump drive has been repaired).

and remove the damper (B).
Install a new damper. Insert the radial and axial hex. socket screws, but do not tighten them at this stage. Always use new
screws!
IMPORTANT:
When tightening the screws, make sure that the aluminium bushings do not turn with regard to the rubber
section. Apply some grease to the underside of the screw heads. Make absolutely certain that the rubber
section does not become skewed.
First tighten the axial screws on the damper to 140 N·m (105 lb-ft), and then tighten the radial ones by the same amount.

The screws are coated with a special adhesive, which takes about 5 hours to harden. Do not operate the tractor until the
adhesive has hardened.
IMPORTANT:
Use of adhesives such as LOCTITE® etc. will cause the rubber and aluminium to part company, resulting in
the destruction of the clutch.
NOTE:
Heating to a temperature of approx. 70° C with a hot-air blower may reduce this time to just 20
minutes.
Use flywheel turning tool JDE83 [ 4-cylinder engines] (A) or JDG820 [ 6-cylinder engines] to turn the shaft.
