1. CONTEXT

Students from Los Andes school located in Fontibón have been fostered to improve their English as a Foreign Language skills by several
strategies, focusing in a non-grammar-based learning and working projects like English Day, spelling bee. Students are familiar with the
statement of English as a very important and defining language to access to post-high school education and working environment. Therefore,
students have a good approach to the language though, we need to consolidate the A2 level and look for the B1.1 required by MEN and CEFR for
sixth graders.

2. MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE SUBJECT

The main goal of the subject is to develop the communicative competence by integrating the five language skills (reading, writing, speaking,
listening and language in use for using English language as a main tool to interact in the school context.

3. SPECIFIC GOALS FOR FIRST BIMESTER

- SPEAKING: To make monologues where brief presentations will be made and explain in a simple way the preferences, activities and other
topics related to the environment and interests
- LISTENING: To listen oral texts about specific information in English and understand the main information taking into account present simple
tense.
- WRITING: To write a social media profile.
- READING: to Understand short text called “North America” (Lightsail platform) and based on the wonderful America continent and its
countries.
- LANGUAGE IN USE: To Develop thinking skills to express, build, interpret, value, vocabulary and grammatical structures through the
development of recreational activities, study and permanent assessment to develop their language skills.
