NIEVES by NIEVES ÁLVAREZ

On January 25, the model and television presenter Nieves Álvarez visited the University of
Design, Innovation, and Technology, UDIT, in order to share her professional experience
with the students at the fashion week event also known as About Fashion. In this activity,
the protagonist shared her personal vision of her entire journey within the industry and her
most outstanding experiences.

Her modeling journey began when she was proposed the idea of becoming a model after
school, when she did her rst photoshoot. Enjoying the experience, she formalized her
modeling career in 1991 by joining modeling agency in Madrid, securing her rst editorial
with Telva magazine a few months later. A crucial moment for her was when in 1994 she
was discovered by Yves Saint Laurent in Paris, marking her association with the brand
until 2002 leading her into the world of Haute Couture. As a result, she became part of
fashion shows for major fashion houses such as Giorgio Armani, Prada, Oscar De La
Renta, Paco Rabanne, and Hermes, where her haircut in 1995 caught the attention and
made her the branded identity of the maison.

Despite her outstanding journey, Nieves Álvarez acknowledged the challenges in the
fashion industry. In 2010, she failed with her own children's brand, “N+V". However, two
years later, she embraced a new challenge, entering the world of television as the host of
the show "Flash Moda" on TVE, a role she continues untill today. Since then, her journey
has enriched her in many areas that have allowed her to experience moments such as
closing the show for the French house Estephane Rolland earlier this year or launching
her own cosmetics line Nieves by Nieves Álvarez.

In this conference, the model has demonstrated her best version of herself within this
complicated and competitive industry. She has managed to convey to the students the
importance of constant work despite the adversities that arise throughout their
professional journey, establishing herself as a role model in Spanish fashion.
