Lion Air selected Sabre Corporation to provide an end-to-end airline
operations and crew management platform.
They will utilize Sabre AirCentre which integrates airline operations,
crew management, disruption handling, and mobile function.
Sabre Corporation will help Lion Air to scale, create greater efficiencies,
and save operating costs across all five airlines with one unified operations
platform.
The Air Transport Industry has predicted that by 2016, major programs
dedicated to cloud computing will have 22% of new infrastructure
initiatives and 49% will put cloud computing on trial and evaluation.
What does the statement of “an end-to-end airline
operations and crew management platform” really
mean?

End-to-end process is a method that completes a system or service from beginning to end,
typically without requiring the assistance of a third party.

Lion Air will have a platform that provides information for flight and airport operations,
including flight planning and tracking, movement control, flight data, weather conditions,
on-the-ground conditions, airline datalink, cargo handlers, and other activities that are
related to airline operations. It also provides information about crew management for
things like crew scheduling, crew tracking, alerts, and crew pay.

All of the information is integrated into one platform to enhance efficiency and achieve
lower operating cost.
