This abstract describes a proposed Electronic Logbook Management System (ELMS) that would use RFID technology to track student attendance at libraries more efficiently than paper-based systems. The paper-based attendance tracking frustrates students with long sign-in processes and provides limited data for librarians. The proposed ELMS would allow students to tap RFID tags for effortless attendance registration to eliminate lines and errors. It would also capture real-time attendance data to give librarians insights into student usage patterns and help optimize library resources. The system aims to be user-friendly and secure with authentication and encryption protocols. Usability will be evaluated using a Post-Study System Usability Questionnaire with librarians and assistants.

Libraries engage with time-consuming paper attendance sheets that
hinder both student experience and librarian efficiency. This study proposes an Electronic Logbook Management System (ELMS) leveraging Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to revolutionize library attendance tracking. The paper-based system frustrates students with tedious sign-ins and offers librarians limited data for informed decision-making. QR codes offer a partial solution but lack the speed, security, and rich data capture, this research aims to design and develop a web-based ELMS using PHP and MySQL. Students will tap RFID tags for effortless attendance registration, eliminating queues and human error. Real-time data capture empowers librarians with insights into student library usage patterns, peak hours, and resource utilization. Attendance data can be used to optimize library hours, staffing levels, and program planning, ensuring student needs are met. The system prioritizes user-friendliness and security, employing secure authentication and data encryption protocols. To evaluate usability, the Post-Study System Usability Questionnaire (PSSUQ) will be used with librarians and library assistants.
