DISTRICT KINDERGARTEN FESTIVAL OF TALENTS

Contests:
1. Poem Recitation – “Akon Makakaya” by Lourdes L. Matan
2. Vocal Solo Competition – Yesterday’s Dream
3. Story Telling – “Sisa” by Letecia M. Garalza
4. Dance (Group Category) – “See Tinh” (Ting Ting Tang Tang Tiktok Dance Remix)
5. Guhit Bulilit – (pls. see Guidelines in MAPEH FOT – Guhit Bulilit Online for Kindergarten)

GENERAL GUIDELINES
1. The conduct of the district elimination shall be on the discretion of each district to select
district representatives in the Division Kindergarten Festival of Talents.
2. The contests are open to presently enrolled learners in Kindergarten in public and private
schools.
3. Each learner shall be allowed to participate in one category only.
4. Appropriate attire/costumes are encouraged for poem, vocal solo (minus one), storytelling,
and dance.
5. There shall be a common contest piece for poem, vocal solo, storytelling, and dance.
6. There shall also be one theme for Guhit Bulilit. An actual art competition for 2 hrs. shall be
conducted at the division level. Meanwhile, the regional competition for Guhit Bulilit will be
online. The details will be released through the MAPEH Festival of Talents Contest
Guidelines.
7. The competitions for poem, vocal solo, storytelling, and dance are not for selection
purposes since there will be NO Regional Festival of Talents for Kindergarten. This division
contest is intended to showcase the potential of kindergarten learners to boost their
confidence, self-esteem, and multiple intelligences.
8. The use of the official music and version of “See Tinh” and minus one of “Yesterday’s
Dream” issued by the division is highly required, otherwise, the use of versions other than
the division-issued music shall be ground for disqualification.
9. Contest Package which includes audio files of music for dance and vocal solo and the soft
copy of the storybook can be accessed at

10. Mechanics in the conduct of the contest per category shall be strictly followed.
11. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.

1. POEM RECITATION GUIDELINES

a. An individual contestant will recite the same poem (common piece)
b. Performance time is 2-3 minutes including entrance and exit.
c. The copy of the contest piece will be distributed during the planning conference of Kindergarten
Coordinators on March 15, 2023 at Calbayog City SPED Center.
d. Appropriate attire/costume should be worn. Observe proper dress code. Clothes like backless,
plunging necklines, and miniskirts are not child-appropriate, hence are not allowed.
e. The winners will be chosen based on the following criteria:

1. Mastery of Piece 40%
2. Voice projection /verbal style 20%
3. Expression/Distinct Style 20%
4. Level of confidence 10%
5. Attire /costume 10%

CONTEST FACILITATOR:

2. VOCAL SOLO GUIDELINES

a. Each contestant will sing the song "Yesterday’s Dream.”
b. Performance time is 3-5 minutes including entrance and exit.
c. The contestant is only allowed to use the prescribed minus one. The mp3 version or audio file
shall be distributed during the planning conference of Kindergarten Coordinators on March 15,
2023 at Calbayog City SPED Center.
d. Appropriate attire /costumes should be worn. Observe the proper dress code. Clothes like
backless, plunging necklines, miniskirts are not child-appropriate, hence are not allowed.
e. The winner will be chosen based on the following criteria:
CRITERIA
1. Voice clarity and projection 25%
2. Rhythm 15%
3. Dynamics 15%
4. Diction 15%
5. Mastery 20%
6. Showmanship/interpretation 10%

3. STORYTELLING GUIDELINES

a. There shall be one (1) contestant who will retell the same story “Sisa” by Letecia M. Garalza.
b. Performance time is 2-3 minutes including entrance and exit.
c. Appropriate attire/costume should be worn. Observe proper dress code. Clothes like backless,
plunging necklines, miniskirts are not child-appropriate, hence are not allowed.
d. Appropriate props may be used, including a printed storybook. The soft copy of the storybook
“Sisa” will be distributed during the planning conference of Kindergarten Coordinators on March
15, 2023 at Calbayog City SPED Center.
e. The winners will be chosen based on the following criteria:

1. Mastery of Piece 40%
2. Voice projection/ verbal style 20%
3. Expression / Distinct Style 20%
4. Level of confidence 10%
5. Attire / costume / Props 10%

4. DANCE (Group Category)

a. The group shall be composed of 5 boys and 5 girls.

b. All groups shall strictly perform the prescribed mp3 version of “See Tinh” (Ting Ting Tang Tang
Tiktok Dance Remix). The audio file shall be distributed during the planning conference of
Kindergarten Coordinators on March 15, 2023 at Calbayog City SPED Center.
c. Appropriate attire/costume should be worn. Observe proper dress code. Clothes like backless,
plunging necklines, miniskirts are not child-appropriate, hence are not allowed.
d. The winners will be chosen based on the following criteria:

1. Choreography 30%
2. Grace and footwork 30%
3. Mastery 30%
4. Attire /costume 10%
