Dr. Mohd. Arshad Ameen has completed his PhD in painting in the year 2011, and at present he is an
Assistant professor at the Department of Architecture. He teaches concepts of art and their
applications in the discipline of Architecture at the undergraduate level. He also specializes in the
use of physical, digital and fabrication related tools and equipment in the departmental workshop,
and also undertakes workshop oriented subjects both at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
He also guides the doctorate (PhD) aspirants researching in the field of Art and Architecture in the
department. Earlier, Arshad has also served as a guest lecturer from 2000 to 2007 in painting and
print making (graphics) in Department of Fine Arts, JMI.

Arshad is an accomplished landscape artist and has done eight solo, 11 national group shows, and 2
international group shows. He has also bagged 32nd UP sate Painting Award from Government of UP,
All India painting Award from Lalit kala Academy, Punjab, and Best painting Award in “Kalam
Festival” of Jamia Millia Islamia. He had also bagged cultural scholarship from UP govt for
specialization in graphics from 1991-1993. He has organised, participated and curated many National
and International Conferences and Seminars of Art and Architecture. He has participated in 20
national Artist Camps and workshops in his career. Within India, his collection of paintings are at
Central Lalit Kala Academy New Delhi, South Zone Cultural centre, Amritsar, UP Lalit Kala Academy,
Lucknow Military Mess, and Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Internationally, his collections are in
USA, Canada, Germany, Dubai and Singapore.
