Let’s get sewing!

The Basic Version:
1 **If you’re doing the After prewashing fabric, cut

child’s size, measure
from the bottom edge
of pant and mark
Take your front pocket pieces
where the bottom edge
of the pocket will go.
4 and mark where eyelets will go,
using your pattern as a guide. Pin
18mos/24mos = 7” the lining of pockets to the
9”8”7” 2T/3T = 8” front pocket pieces with right-
4T = 9” sides together. Stitch along the
entire edge with a 2” opening
along the bottom edge of pockets.

Trim the corners

5 and clip notches
along the curved
edges. Turn right-
side out and
press along seam.

Topstitch 1” from

and add eyelets to
where you placed
your markings.

Once topstitch and eyelets are done, find

7 the center by folding the pocket vertically
in half and gently press the folded cor-

Match bottom crease on pocket to the marking fig10

with rightsides
together and stitch
along both crotch
seams.

and backside of pant
together, pin and stitch the

Start making the casing for the elastic
14 on the waistband. Fold 1/4” from top
raw edge towards the wrongside of
pant. Press.

Fold over again 1 1/4” and Stitch along folded edge and

15 press. 16 leave a 2” opening for elastic.
Cut elastic to suit child’s
fig20 waist and insert elastic
through casing. Stitch elastic
ends together and stitch
closed the opening.

19 Give yourself a pat on the

back, you’re done! Your
little sailor is ready to set

For each pocket you will

Basic Pant
If you’re looking for a simple, no-fuss pant this is it. While
the little one goes down for a nap, you can whip this baby
up and have it ready to wear when the babe wakes. I know...
I did it!

After prewashing and cut-
