WHY DO WE NEED TO STUDY ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE? WHAT IS IT’S

SIGNIFICANCE TO MY COURSE?

Studying environmental science is crucial because it helps us understand how our

actions impact the planet and teaches us how to live sustainably. It’s about learning to
use our resources wisely so we don’t run out, and ensuring a healthy environment for
future generations. Essentially, it’s about protecting our home and everything in it.

Environmental science is significant to social work because it helps social workers

understand the relationship between the environment and human well-being. By studying
environmental science, social workers can better address issues like climate change,
pollution, and natural disasters, which often affect the most vulnerable populations the
hardest. It equips social workers with the knowledge to advocate for policies that protect
both the environment and the communities they serve, ensuring a healthier future for all.
