PRELIMINARY PART
Topic/ Lesson Name We Encounter Jesus in His Church
The learner demonstrates understanding of how we encounter Jesus in his
Content Standards
Church.
Performance Standards The learner is able to determine what the signs and symbols represents.
1. The learners identify how we encounter God in Jesus
Learning Competencies 2. The learner discuss the different signs and symbols of how Jesus
communicates to us.
At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to do the following with
75% proficiency:
1. reiterate that we encounter God in Jesus through the Christian
Specific Learning Outcomes
community and scriptures,
2. commit themselves to the Church’s mission, and
3. pray to God expressing our need for His abiding presence and love.
Time Allotment 320 minutes
Dates Covered September 11 - 21, 2023; 8 days: 40 minutes/day

B. Motivation
 The learners will read a story in the book and answer the guide
questions after.
 The teacher will play a video about a happy family.
C. Instruction/ Delivery (Day 1)
 The teacher will show pictures of a happy family.
 The learners will list down in their notebook the characteristics of their
own family.
 How did God reveal his love for us?
 How does God remain in us?
 Ask the learners if they know how to love.
 “Whoever does not love does not know God because God is love.”
 The teacher will discuss how we encounter Jesus in His Church
 Discuss the ministry.
 Discuss what a domestic Church means.
D. Practice/ Drill
 The teacher will give the learners homework about ministries.
 They will go to Church and ask what ministries are offered in the Church.
They will write the name, the description, who can join, and what are the
activities.
E. Enrichment/ Values Integration
Your family is a “domestic church.” Each one in your family has a role to play in
God’s Kingdom. What are the roles of your mother, father, brother, sister, or
grandparents in spreading God’s Kingdom. Draw a house on a clean piece of
paper. Inside the house write the roles which the members of your family and
write your role, too.
