This inspection was carried out on the Electrical Lab at the Herbert Morrison Technical

High School. The lab has one single door entrance and one double door entrnce. There

are six work tables, all of which are in use, 4 wooden cabinets all located at the front of

the lab, a fume hood, and six washing stations consisting of one sink each, 3 of which

work. It was noted that there were however, boxes consisting of lab apparatus containing

Recommendations

It is recommended that an emergency shower station be added at the back of the lab. All

damaged apparatus and materials should be replaced with functioning ones. All waste materials

within the lab should be disposed of in the appropriate trash bin. A bag storage cabinet should be

added to accommodate student’s bags. An emergency eyewash station should also be added.

Trash bins should be added to the end of each work station as shown in the revised floor plan. A

fire extinguisher and a first-aid kit should be mounted to the wall. Air conditioning should be

added to the lab. Each washing station should undergo maintenance to ensure that they function

properly. Each Bunsen burner should also undergo maintenance to ensure that they function

properly. Finally, a First-Aid Kit should be placed at the teacher’s desk to accommodate any

injuries that may occur in the laboratory.
