WITH ALL APPLICABLE BUILDING CODES.

1. USE 4-12MM DIAMETER VERTICAL REINFORCEMENT BARS WITH 10 MM DIAMETER
LATERAL TIES FOR ALL COLUMNS
2. USE 2-12MM DIAMETER TOP BARS AND 2-12MM DIAMETER BOTTOM BARS WITH
10MM STIRRUPS FOR ALL BEAMS AND GIRDER.
3. USE 6-12MM DIAMETER REINFORCEMENT BARS ON CENTER BOTH WAYS FOR

03 30 00 CAST-IN-PLACE CONCRETE
1. USE EAGLE CEMENT OR EQUAL FOR ALL CONCRETE MIXTURE.
2. BEFORE POURING OF CONCRETE MIXTURES TO ALL CONCRETE WORKS THAT CAN
BE EXPOSED TO SLIPPAGE OF WATER, ADD DISPERSAL AGENTS.
3. USE CLASS A CONCRETE MIXTURE, 1:2:4 WALLS AND THIN REINFORCED SECTION
OF THE PROJECT.
4. FOR ADDING ADDITIVES, READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTION OF THE
MANUFACTURERS.
5. TO ACHIEVE DESIRABLE RESULT, USE CONCRETE ADDITIVES AND BONDING
AGENTS TO CONCRETE MIXTURES BEFORE POURING OF CONCRETE MIXTURE.
USE HIGH BOND STRENGTH EPOXY ADHESIVE FOR CONCRETE BONDING AGENT
OR ANY EQUIVALENT PRODUCT IF NOT AVAILABLE.

03 31 00 STRUCTURAL CONCRETE
1. USE 4,000 PSI CONCRETE WITH A MAXIMUM SLUMP OF 4". CONTRACTOR IS
RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING THE MIX DESIGN. USE GRADE 60 REINFORCING
STEEL (EPOXY COATED WHEN REQUIRED). CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
ALL CONCRETE TESTING (STRENGTH, SLUMP, AND AIR CONTENT).
2. 4,000 PSI STRENGTH SHALL ATTAIN BY THE WALLS AND THIN REINFORCED
SECTION AFTER 28 DAYS OF CURING PERIOD.

DIVISION 04: MASONRY


ALL REQUIRED LABOR AND MATERIALS PERTAINING TO MASONRY WORK IN THE
PROJECT CONSTRUCTION ARE ALL SPECIFIED IN THESE DOCUMENTS, WHILE COMPLYING
WITH ALL APPLICABLE BUILDING CODES.

04 01 00 MAINTENANCE OF MASONRY
REGULARLY EVALUATE AND POSSIBLY REAPPLY PAINT, WATER REPELLENTS,
WATERPROOFING, AND OTHER WALL COATINGS. KEEPING TRACK OF APPLIED COATINGS
IS CRUCIAL DUE TO THE VARIETY OF MATERIALS USED ON CONCRETE MASONRY WALLS,
SIMPLIFYING THE SELECTION OF REAPPLICATION MATERIALS. PROPERLY SELECTED AND
APPLIED COATINGS ENHANCE SURFACE PERFORMANCE AND LONGEVITY.

BUILDINGS MAY REQUIRE PERIODIC CLEANING TO REMOVE DIRT, STAINS, AND


MOLD. STRICTLY ADHERE TO MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CLEANING
PRODUCTS TO AVOID INJURY TO INDIVIDUALS AND STRUCTURAL DAMAGE CAUSED BY
CERTAIN COMPOUNDS.
04 01 20.51 UNIT MASONRY CLEANING

HAND CLEANING
DURING CONSTRUCTION, USE BASIC HAND TOOLS LIKE A TROWEL, CHISEL,
STIFF BRISTLE OR FIBER BRUSH, ABRASIVE BLOCK, OR FRACTURED STONE FOR
CLEANING. AVOID STEEL-WIRE BRUSHES AS THEY CAN LEAVE METAL PARTICLES
ON MASONRY, CAUSING CORROSION AND DISCOLORATION.

WATER CLEANING
CLEANING METHODS INCLUDE SCRUBBING WITH WATER AND SOAP,
SOAKING, STEAM CLEANING, AND PRESSURE WASHING. USE MINIMAL WATER
WITH WATER-BASED METHODS TO PREVENT EFFLORESCENCE FROM WATER
ENTERING THE WALL. UNPAINTED WALLS CAN USUALLY BE CLEANED BY
SCRUBBING WITH WATER AND A SMALL AMOUNT OF DETERGENT.

CHEMICAL CLEANING
USE CHEMICAL CLEANING SOLUTIONS TO CLEAN CONCRETE MASONRY
SAFELY, AVOIDING RAW OR UNDILUTED ACIDS. DILUTED ACIDS SHOULD BE USED
CAUTIOUSLY AFTER THOROUGHLY WETTING THE WALL TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO
THE CEMENT MATRIX AND NATURAL WATER REPELLENT. AVOID APPLYING ACIDS
UNDER PRESSURE.
