My Reflection

Professional Development Plan Final Reflection

At first, it is just mu goal be a regular/permanent teacher in the Department of Education

because I already had three children when I left the private school. My mentality at that time was if I got
hired in the public schools that will be enough for a living. But when I got item for Teacher I position and
years passed by I came to realize that I do not want to retire in this position and I wanted to grow more
as high as I can. Now that I am writing this reflection, I am enlightened how important my Professional
Development Plan is.

As I start drafting my Professional Development Plan I started also asking myself where am I in
my career and where I would like to be in the future. I believe through this I can position myself to
achieve my desired level of proficiency through establishing short-term and long-term goals. I am happy
for myself for I was able to identify and set my goals that depend on my personal and professional
situation. I looked to what are my major responsibilities because those are areas in which I will need to
keep current. This is I think important to Identify because why should I focus to thing outside my
responsibility?

I was going smoothly crafting my PDP and I already Identified my areas of concern for my PDP, I
asked myself, what are my strengths and what are the professional areas I need to improve? Are my
current practices aligned with my areas of concern? Those are the questions that helped me craft my
PDP.

While writing my PDP, it came into my mind ah this is how professional development plan help
me gain specific insight into how I can reach my career aspirations, such as earning a new certification
or finding a mentor who can advise and help me.

Now that I have finished my Professional Development Plan, I have now a new direction on my
career because I know with this PDP I am on the right track. I am more motivated to work hard in my
chosen profession not only for my family but for myself to grow professionally as high as I can be.
