Ather Energy is an Indian elect ric t wo-wheeler manufact urer, headquart ered in Bangalore. It was
founded by Tarun Meht a and Swapnil Jain in 2013. It current ly manufact ures elect ric scoot ers
known as t he At her 450 Apex, At her 450S, At her 450X and t he At her 450X Pro. It has t wo EV
manufact uring facilit ies one in Whit efield, Bangalore and ot her in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.[5][6]

It is India's fift h largest elect ric t wo-wheeler manufact urer aft er Ola Elect ric, Okinawa Aut ot ech,
Hero Elect ric and Ampere Vehicles. It has also est ablished elect ric vehicle charging
infrast ruct ure across t he count ry called At her Grid which is India's largest t wo-wheeler elect ric
charging net work.[7]

History
At her Energy was founded in 2013 by Tarun Meht a and Swapnil Jain.

In early 2014, it received ₹4.5 million (US$56,000) from t he Technology Development Board
under Depart ment of Science and Technology, IIT Madras and Srini V Srinivasan, IIT alumnus and
founder of Aerospike.[8] In December 2014, Flipkart founders, Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal
invest ed $1 million as t he seed capit al.[9] In May 2015, it received $12 million from Tiger Global
for invest ment s in development , t est ing, product ion and t he launch of t he vehicle.[10]

On 23 February 2016, t he company unveiled it s first scoot er S340 at a t echnology conference

Ather 450x (Gen 3.1)

Launched on 7 January 2023.

At her Energy has also int roduced t he At her St ack 5.0 soft ware wit h improved graphics. The
soft ware includes feat ures such as Wings of Power, Google Vect or Maps, and Aut o Hold.
However, Aut o Hold is only available for t he Gen 3 and Gen 3.1 models. The Gen 2 model does
not support t his feat ure due t o different mot or cont rollers.

Overall, t he At her 450X Gen 3.1 is a st ylish and high-performance elect ric scoot er wit h several
not able improvement s over it s predecessor, including new colour opt ions and upgraded soft ware.
The scoot er has received posit ive reviews for it s performance and feat ures, making it a popular
choice among elect ric scoot er ent husiast s in India.

Ather 450X (3rd Generation)

At her 450X (3rd Generat ion) was launched on 19 July 2022 wit h improved range and ot her
feat ures. This new 3rd generat ion At her 450x has more powerful bat t ery wit h 3.66 kWh.

At her 450X has a 4G sim card and wifi along wit h Bluet oot h connect ivit y and t he new 7”
t ouchscreen dashboard, comes wit h a color dept h of 16M and a Snapdragon Quad Core
processor. At her 450X ut ilizes Android Open Source t o offer map navigat ion, On-board
diagnost ics and feat ures like Over-t he-air updat es, Aut o Indicat or off and Guide-me-home light s.

The At her mobile app offers personalized ride st at ist ics, charging st at us, push navigat ion and
more funct ionalit ies like t heft & t ow det ect ion, live locat ion & vehicle st at e t racking, voice
assist ant and welcome light s. At her 450X support s connect ed accessories like smart helmet s
and t yre pressure monit oring syst ems (TPMS).[27]

Ather 450
The At her 450 is const ruct ed using an all-aluminium frame, comes wit h a 3.3 kW / 5.4 kW peak
(7.2 BHP) Brushless DC elect ric mot or, and a 2.4 kWh lit hium-ion bat t ery pack. The scoot er can
accelerat e t o 40 km/h in 3.9 seconds, at t ain a t op speed of 80 km/h, and can t ravel 75 km on
one charge in cit y-riding condit ions (107 km in t he Indian driving cycle).

At her Energy also offers an upgraded version of At her 450 called t he At her 450 Plus which has a
t op speed of 70 kmph and a True Range of 70 km in Eco mode. The At her 450 Plus offers 4G
connect ivit y, onboard navigat ion, and ot her connect ed feat ures but does not have Bluet oot h
connect ivit y or t he Warp mode.

OTA updates
At her Energy provides over-t he-air (OTA) updat es for it s elect ric scoot ers. At her Energy has
rolled out 13 OTA updat es t ill dat e.[28]

Ather Grid
At her has set up it s own charging net work, dubbed At her Grid, in 18 cit ies across India. These DC-
fast -charging st at ions use At her's propriet ary charging met hod and connect or t o charge t he
At her scoot ers at a rat e of 1 km/min. The charging point s are also equipped wit h a 3-pin socket
t o supply AC power t o ot her elect ric vehicles t hat do not use At her's connect or. Ot her vehicles
can connect t o t he charging point and st art charging using t he At her Grid app for iOS and
Android.[29]

More t han 120 fast charging grid point s are inst alled across 18 Cit ies in India. At her has plans t o
set up around 300 fast charging st at ions across India by end of 2021. At her also set s up a home
charging point at cust omer's homes which will charge t he At her 450X overnight .
