Backup of all SAS Raid volume data at Firmware 1.01 or 1.07.
Subsequent upgrade new firmware as you need, SAS Raid and volume(s) re-creation, and Restore of all data, would provided for
repeat availability of data.

Windows Instructions:
Instructions
•After downloading, double-click install.exe

Notes
•You do not need to install any other software. A Java virtual machine is
included with this download.

3.4 Install proRAID Manager on MAC

Mac OS X Instructions:
Instructions
•After downloading, double-click install

Notes
•Be sure you have Java installed. You can download Java from
Apple's site
•The compressed installer should be recognized by Stuffit
Expander and should automatically be expanded after
downloading. If it is not expanded, you can expand it manually
using StuffIt Expander 6.0 or later.
•If you have any problems launching the installer once it has
been expanded, make sure that the compressed installer was
expanded using Stuffit Expander. If you continue to have
problems, please contact technical support.

Instructions (Unix or Unix-like operating systems)
•For Java 2, after downloading, type
java -jar install.jar
•For Java 1.1, after downloading, type
jre -cp install.jar install
•If that does not work, try
java -classpath [path to]classes.zip:install.jar install
•If that does not work either, on sh-like shells, try
cd [to directory where install.jar is located]
CLASSPATH=install.jar
export CLASSPATH
java install
•Or for csh-like shells, try
cd [to directory where install.jar is located]
setenv CLASSPATH install.jar

3.12 Install proRAID Manager on Other Platform

Instructions (for other platforms)


•Be sure you have Java installed. You can download
Java from Sun's site
•In a console window, change to the directory where
you downloaded install.jar to before running the
installer
•Your operating system may invoke Java in a different
way. To start the installer, add install.jar to
your CLASSPATH, then start the main class of the
installer named install

SES

Firmware Upgrade

4.1 SES Boards Version

To upgrade the SES firmware, first you need to check SES board
version number. Check in the LCD display the SES version (use
arrow down key).

“SES2” means Version 2.x of PRO-90-5601 SES board


PRO-90-5601 Baud Rate Terminal Setting is 115200.

“SES” means Version 1.x of PRO-90-6601 SES board


PRO-90-6601 Baud Rate Terminal Setting is 38400.

4.2 SES2 (5601) Board

Another option is to check the SES board version. Power off the
RAID subsystem and remove the SES module. Check the board
version from the label marked on the SES board.

1.Connect RS232 serial cable to the RS232


port of SES module.

2.Open terminal connection and


configure terminal settings as follows:
Baud Rate: 115200
Data Bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop Bits: 1
Flow Control: None

NOTE: The upgrade process is done twice. The first time needs a
jumper in JP8. The second time does not need a jumper.

•Power off the RAID system. Remove the SES Module. Insert a jumper in JP8 of
SES board PRO-90-6601.

subsystem. Connect RS232 serial
cable to the RS232 port of SES module.

2.Power on RAID subsystem. Configure


terminal settings as follows:
Baud Rate: 38400

Flow Control: None

8.1 Show IP address - LCD Panel

You can get the IP address show on LCD Panel


This menu displays the Controller IP address.
Pressing the button will display second
controller’s IP address.

In a single controller configuration, the second


controller’s IP address will be shown as 0.0.0.0.

The IP display need to wait 2 Minutes after you power on

The IP display need to wait 15 Minutes after you change IP address
