GRAMMAR - PAST AND PERFECT TENSES
➢ Past continuous and past simple
○ Was / Were + Verb -ing → PAST CONTINUOUS
■ I was playing soccer
■ We were playing soccer
○ Verb in the past tense → PAST SIMPLE
■ I did it last year
■ I played soccer last year → Regular verb → -ED
■ I understood the problem

INFINITIVE:
➢ After an adjective → The computer is easy to use

GERUND:
➢ As a subject of a clause
➢ After preposition → I did my homework before going out
➢ Verbs followed by gerund → I enjoy cooking
➢ Verbs with prepositions followed by gerund
RELATIVE CLAUSES:
➢ Defining:
○ Give essential information about the noun
■ He is the boy
■ He is the boy who lives next door
➢ Non-Defining:
○ Give extra information about the noun
■ Pear Smith is a famous designer
■ Pear smith, who lives next door, is a famous designer
★ A veces, cuando tienes dos frases cortas lo que se hace es unirlas con (who /
where / that / whose / which) de manera que sea una sola frase.

THE FUTURE:
In the future we may use the follow verb tenses:
➢ Present Simple → Schedules / Timetable
➢ Future Simple → Will
➢ Future Continuous → Will be + verb -ing (to talk about actions are going to be
completed in the future)
➢ Future Perfect Simple → Will have + Past Participle
➢ Future Perfect Continuous → Will have been + verb -ing
➢ Going to → Future predictions based on present evidence → intention
➢ Present Continuous → Action which is arranged
