Activities

In our project, we plan to give concerts together with our partner schools by blending our own folk
melodies and the folk melodies of the participating countries with modern European music.

The pieces to be selected for the concert will be introduced to the countries mutually and we will
prepare a commom programme and we will work together by combining modern European
instruments such as violin, piano, cello and wind groups, as well as folk instruments and rhythms
specific to different cultures.

Activities and studies at the Macedonian school for the visually impaired will be carried out on the
notes prepared in accordance with the note writing and study styles used by these students.

In the events held in the countries of destination, students will work not only with their own chefs
but also with the chefs of the partner countries, and the chefs will do a separate study for visually
impaired individuals.

Dance programs will be performed in accordance with the folk melodies in the countries visited.

Motivation

As Aşık Veysel Fine Arts High School, we aim to pave the way for young people to become idealistic
leaders and productive individuals by discovering and developing their talents.

Our great goal is not to play an instrument, but the sense of accomplishment of playing it, the
experience and self-confidence brought by learning the meaning of producing together, expressing
different sounds in harmony at the same time. Aşık Veysel, named after our school, is an important
folk poet. Based on this, we want to blend our folk instruments and the motifs, melodies and
rhythms of our music with the rules of contemporary polyphonic European music. We aim to achieve
unity and solidarity as modern, productive, democratically respectful individuals by using music. We
think that the blending of his country's own folk melodies with modern European music will open up
the horizons of the young people and ensure the status of modern European individuals.

While experiencing this experience, we have established a partnership with the Macedonian
School for the Visually Impaired people called ‘’…………….’’ based on the feelings of a visually impaired
student at our school. We are aware of how important music is for them to socialize and raise
awareness of the social environment. By taking part in the orchestra, we aim to pave the way for
them to be more free and comfortable individuals in their social environment.

Our aim in this project is to enable them to be young people who are interested in music and thus
make decisions in their social lives, who can look critically at their own productions and different
cultures, and have a vision, instead of being individuals who waste their time on digital platforms .

Objectıves

According to the results of the survey we conducted between parents and students in our school, we
aimed to develop a European awareness in young people by blending the traditional music of the
countries with modern European music and using the power of art and music, which is a universal
language.

With this project, we will not only learn folk instruments and rhythms specific to different cultures,
but also gather them under the roof of a single orchestra in a polyphonic way in modern European
music.

Thanks to one of our visually impaired students, we realized how important music is to them, and
among our goals, we formed a partnership with the Macedonian school for the visually impaired to
help visually impaired individuals gain a place in society, create a social environment and raise
awareness among other visually impaired individuals.

Young people playing in the orchestra gain self-confidence, feel more comfortable in social
environments, learn different cultures and blend it with their own music, instead of having negative
attitudes such as consumption frenzy, peer bullying, digital life, have a high European awareness,
musical culture, social and productive. We aimed for them to become individuals who contribute to
countries at national and international level.
