Dear ECE recruitment committee,

My name is Chelsea Su and I am writing this to express my interest in applying for

the ECE event manager. I’ve always been dreaming of being a member of the ECE
during my rst year at RSM, and I believe this opportunity would help me to become a
more entrepreneurial business student.

I want to be a part of the ECE since I spend the most time ‘‘learning’’ the business
knowledge in IBA, but I barely have the freedom to come up with my own ideas and
develop entrepreneurship. I see the ECE as a perfect chance for me to be exposed to
an innovative environment. To work and brain-storming with other entrepreneurial
fellows is something I have been craving for. Furthermore, I have experience in
organizing and holding events when I was in high school. I have a great passion for
organizing events for school students. I enjoy the sense of achievement of organizing
a successful and memorable event for participants, and, more importantly, working
with other team members to achieve a goal always makes the process more
enjoyable.

What distinguishes me from my peers is:

First, I came from one of the most prestigious high schools in Taiwan; during my
studies there, I received a lot of intensive work-related training, such as coursework
and extracurricular activities, while various group work experiences sharpened my
teamwork skills. I realize that the position of ECE event manager is quite demanding,
but with my high school experience, I believe that I can not only apply my multitasking
skill but even be one of the key members of a great team.

Secondly, as I mentioned, I have experience in organizing events when I was in high

school. I was the secretary of the student council. Our job includes improving
students’ well-being, communicating with the school, and providing school clubs with
a stage for their performance. We hosted many school events such as the school
concert, orientation, movie nights, and so on. I gained lots of experience in planning
and arranging events with very tight budgets. Besides, I was the receptionist at Taipei
Lantern Festival in 2022 which is a pretty large-scale event in Taiwan. I was
responsible for receiving ambassadors at the event. Therefore, being an organizer
and a trained sta at an event is not a new thing for me. Plus, I was in charge of a
project in the student council to provide extra discounts for students at nearby
stores; as the leader of this project, I learned the most about negotiating with
merchants and communicating with other team members.

Thirdly, I am an entrepreneurial student who is willing to take risks for unknown

challenges while seizing every potential opportunity, which is re ected in my success
in building my own online business with limited resources. Furthermore, I desire to

gain more business expertise to develop myself as a successful businesswoman
owning a business. I expect myself to gain more insights into entrepreneurship in ECE
by exchanging ideas with other creative peers. I look forward to approaching the real
start-up world by joining ECE.

I believe I would be a good t for ECE event manager because of my enthusiasm for
entrepreneurship and my desire to formulate my own ideas instead of just ‘‘learning’’.
I would love to participate in ECE, as it would allow me to dive into the real start-up
world and sharpen my organizing skills with other capable members. Considering my
experiences so far and my desire to foster my entrepreneurship, I am convinced that I
will be a valuable addition to ECE. I hope to be given this chance, as I am con dent
that I am capable of meeting and even exceeding your expectations.
