The Similarities Between B.

F Skinner’s and Ivan Pavlov’s Personality Theory

At a glance these two theories are different from each other. In contrast, these two scientist have
some common aspects in their personality theories. Especially while observing their experiments,
some similarities are too obvious such as the using an animal for the theory, hold attention to
behaviorism and using award for training

Firstly, B.F. Skinner did a lot of experiment for his theories about human’s behaviors as a scientist. In
the one of his experiment, he used an animal to observe it’s reactions and it was a mouse. In
addition, Ivan Pavlov realized a dog’s behavior for feeding time. In this way, the two scientists
awarded if something with an animal.

Secondly, hold attention to behaviorism.

Constantly B.F. Skinner was doing research about behaviorism such as the ‘reward theory’. Likewise
Ivan Pavlov took attention to dog’s behavior to the ringing bell and he decided to called this situation
as ‘classical conditioning’.

Lastly, using award for training. Actually, Ivan Pavlov did not use any awards to observe the dog’s
behavior but it is similar to B.F Skinner’s ‘reward method’ in terms of Ivan Pavlov used the food to
relate dog’s reaction with food so we can called this situation with ‘reward method’ such as B.F
skinner’s theory.

In conclusion, these three similarities such as the using animal for theory, hold attention to
behaviorism, using award for training could acceptable while comparing the two different theory of
two scientists.
