1.0 INTRODUCTION

On third of November ago, I was received one individual assignment report from our lecturer
Madam Nik Evina Nik Roseli. This report should be complete within 4 week after we
received it. We decide to choose ‘”Interview with kindergarten Operators” as our topic for this
report. On this report we have to conduct interview with the kindergarten operators. The
interview should based on the provided description. Other than that, before the interview we
also make some research about the kindergarten so that easy to communicate with the
operator of Kindergarten. This report is an individual report so we must complete this report
on our own not by group. I must do my best to complete all the task from lecturer to get a
good score.

During the process of completing this report, I have to face so many challenged within the 14
days. Because I need to do research then gather all the information from the interview to
complete my report. The first step I was do is browse websites of “taska.my”. from this
websites I got some information about all the kindergarten nearby me. I try to contact some
the kindergarten operators but some of them did not gave cooperation because they are
very busy with their job and not ready for interview. But I never give up I try to contact
another kindergarten. Luckily, one of the kindergarten accept my offer. The operators of
“Taska Anakku” agreed to get interview but the interviews are conducted online because it is
very difficult to arrange time for meet each other.

2.0 NURSERY ESTABLISHMENT

The establishment of nurseries has progressed rapidly, this growth is due to the rapid
population growth and the development of the country’s economy, many parents work to
help their family economy, therefore they have to send their children to nurseries to be cared
for. From this situation Mrs. Riana as a entrepreneurs see the big opportunity for the
Nursery operator.

2.2 Establishment Planning Process

Taska Anakku was established on January 01, 2013. Mrs. Riana Hassan 44 years
old operator of this Taska took 2 months to set up this nursery. She need at least 3
week to complete all the document required such as medical report, Jabatan Bomba dan
Penyelamat Malaysia to ensure the building is safe to operate as a nursery. Other than
that, this Nursery must register under Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat.

According to Mrs. Riana the most important thing is where is the nursery

located. The location of a nursery plays a crucial role in its profitability. Taska are
usually opened in urban areas because most working parents will send their children to
daycare centers, therefore the demand for daycare centers is high in urban areas compared
to rural areas.

Mrs. Riana tell that their nursery priorities is to fulfill mission and vision of the
Taska so that they can achieve their goal of Taska Establishment. The place where the
nursery operates needs to be emphasized so that the childcare service can provide good
assurance to the parents. If we do not choose the right place, it is likely that we will suffer a
considerable loss.

Next, her challenge in planning to open a nursery is that Puan Riana faces the
challenge where she has to prepare children's education certificates and KMP certificates.
He stated that the challenge of establishing a nursery is difficult when there are no
acquaintances who trust him as a new person who runs a nursery.

2.3 Establishment process

Puan Riana took 4 weeks to register with the Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat within that time
she need to complete all the documents that need to be submitted to the local authorities,
the fire and rescue department and the sanitation department.

The nursery application procedure can take consultation and registration


applications can be made through the District Social Welfare Office (PKMD) where the
nursery will be established. In addition, a registration fee of RM250.00 is charged for
nurseries and institutions. The approval of the TASKA Registration Certificate will be issued
by the relevant State Director of Social Welfare (PKMN).

Among the documents that she needs to include with the TASKA Registration
Application Form to PKMD is the approval of the three most recent technical agencies / still
valid. She need to prepare Floor plan and its calculation (in meter measurements), Weekly
menu list, Weekly activity list, Employee list (full name, K/P No. and approval), Company /
Organization Registration Certificate, Activity list with parents and Postage. Remittance
worth RM50.00 in the name of the Director General of Social Welfare Malaysia. In addition,
for the Care Center application form, it can be obtained for free at any PKMD or state or
headquarters. The documents that need to be included for registration purposes are the
same as TASKA. Only postage / money order is worth RM10.00 only.

3.0 Nursery Management

As a operators of Nursery, there are several part of management in Taska need to pay
attention. Which is financial management, employee management, learning process
management and health and safety management, other than that operator must have good
relationship with parent. Operator also needs to be prepared to face current challenges and
issues and find solutions for each future challenge.

3.1 Financial Management

Puan Riana starting this Nursery with RM 17 750. Rental RM800 (1 month), rental deposit
with electricity and water bills RM 2000 ( first month of rental only) , cctv cost 8 chennal
RM2000, the cost of installing stairs + doors / flags / emergency lights RM 2500, 3 fire
extinguishers RM300, Purchase of goods (ASET) in the nursery and outside amounting to
RM 10k, installation of television and Astro RM 1500. These items are the initial cost of the
opening of Taska Anakku. Therefore, the admission fee to the nursery has a certain
package. For example, newborn to 1 year RM300 and 2 to 4 years RM 250.

Next, the cost of food for children per month is ready-to-eat cereal food at around
RM 26, bread at RM 16, rice and porridge at a preparation cost of around RM 5. Noodles,
vermicelli, kueh teow and laksa at a preparation cost of around RM 5. Vegetables priced
around RM 8 (Various types of vegetables). The price of fruits is around RM 9. Beans RM 3.
Chicken, meat, seafood RM25. Snacks and sweets RM 8 and drinks around the price of RM
5. All this is a cost for children's food of RM110.

3.2 Staff Management

There are 3 people who are assigned to take care of 15 children. Each staff will take care 5
children in one time. The qualification level of nursery school educators must be 18 years old
or above. At least have a Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) qualification and at least
attend the Children's Basic Course recognized by the Social Welfare Department within one
year. Educators need to have enough experience in knowledge to nurture children. In this
case, it is better if the nanny has professional qualifications in early childhood education so
that they have more knowledge in early childhood development and are likely to be able to
handle children better in various aspects and good management. This is because, these
people have been trained with the knowledge of children and can know about the emotions
and wishes of children based on the level of development of children and also according to

the exposure suitable learning for children. As we all know children need to be guide as
early as possible so that children can form their perfect identity.

Specifically, KAP is an extension course from the Basic Child Care Course which is
compulsory for all childcare practitioners in Malaysia include the entrepreneur, manager,
supervisor or nanny. Therefore, this course is the minimum qualification for caregivers or
educators, especially for those who have only passed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) to
build knowledge, skills and a positive attitude towards childcare. In addition, with knowledge
of the main development of children from birth to four years, caregivers or educators will be
able to ensure that activities are planned in accordance with the development of children and
that children are protected from the risk of injury, accident or harm.

KAP also gave exposure to caregivers about the PERMATA National Curriculum.
Certificate-level courses typically aim to provide caregivers or educators with the ability to
demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of the core knowledge of the field. Basic
knowledge is used to provide learning experiences that are appropriate for children's
development. Provide and maintain a safe and healthy environment and able to foster
children's learning and development. Comply with professional values, attitudes and ethics.
Communicate with children, colleagues, family and community. Using basic problem solving
skills and scientific skills in parenting and PAKK. Select and use information to enhance
early learning and self-development

3.3 Learning Process

Nursery operating hour is 9 hours a day starting from 7 am to 5 pm. Within this time children
area able to learning managing themselves and making friends, teachers teach children to
be independent and not completely dependent on the teacher such as putting on and
buttoning a shirt or unzipping or closing pants while in the toilet, tying hair and so on.
Therefore, children should also be taught to open their food and keep their things in a bag to
avoid losing important items. In addition, children may be able to develop their
communication skills throughout the school year, but social skills may be challenging at the
beginning for children. Caregivers can also help ease children by teaching them basic social
rules such as sharing toys and snacks with their friends, or not behaving rudely by punching
or bothering other children. Caregivers also need to teach children simple and fun toys so
that children can teach and play with their friends.

3.4 pengurusan kesihatan dan keselamatan kanak-kanak

Taska Anakku pernah membuat program Pemeriksaan Kesihatan Kanak-Kanak Dan


Taklimat Penyakit Berjangkit. Program ini bertujuan untuk membina kesedaran dan
kefahaman di kalangan kanak-kanak tentang taraf kesihatan mereka. Ibu bapa atau penjaga
juga diberi pengetahuan betapa pentingnya tahap penjagaan kesihatan di kalangan anak-
anak mereka serta penyakit yang boleh berjangkit kepada kanak-kanak yang lain. Di
samping itu, Taska Anakku mengasaskan latihan seumur hidup tentang perlunya penjagaan
kesihatan. Diharapkan dengan adanya aktiviti ini dapat memberi kesedaran betapa
pentingnya penjagaan kesihatan dan pencegahan dari awal di kalangan kanak-kanak di
peringkat awal.

Pengasuh bertanggungjawab memastikan setiap pergerakan kanak-kanak di awasi


dan mereka berada dalam keadaan selamat dan jauh dari segala bentuk bahaya. Setiap
ruang yang disediakan hendaklah mempunyai ciri-ciri keselamatan yang sudah ditetapkan
sama ada oleh pihak pengurusan taska atau agensi yang terlibat dengan pendaftaran
sesebuah taska. Setiap pengasuh perlu memberi perhatian yang serius terhadap aspek
keselamatan taska terutamanya keselamatan kanak-kanak semasa berada di taska.
Pelbagai langkah perlu diambil untuk memastikan kanak-kanak sentiasa berada dalam
keaadaan selesa dan selamat. Setiap ruang yang digunakan untuk keperluan dan kegunaan
kanak-kanak hendaklah dilengkapi dengan peralatan dan perabot yang sesuai dan selamat
digunakan. Pastikan peralatan dan bahan permainan sesuai mengikut tahap umur kanak-
kanak. Hal ini, boleh menggelakkan dari kemalangan seperti tercekik permainan yang
bersaiz kecil atau sebagainya. Pastikan semua peralatan dan perabot di dalam dan di luar
taska adalah selamat untuk digunakan. Jangan menggunakan perabot yang rosak dan
sudah tidak boleh digunakan lagi agar kanak-kanak sentiasa merasa selamat dan selesa
sepanjang berada di taska bagi membina sahsiah dan emosi yang stabil. Memastikan
kanak-kanak tidak merasa curiga dan takut ketika di taska dan memastikan kanak-kanak
memahami setiap sudut dan ruang di taska adalah direka bentuk untuk kegunaan mereka.

Puan Riana memasang CCTV adalah langkah terbaik bagi menjamin keselamatan
kanak-kanak yang dihantar di pusat jagaan. Hal ini, bertujuan untuk menyakinkan ibu bapa
agar semua pergerakan anak-anak mereka boleh diawasi dan dirakam. CCTV adalah cara
yang terbaik bagi mengawasi kanak-kanak asuhan. Pihak taska hendaklah menunjukkan
bahawa kita ada standard tertinggi supaya siapa-siapa yang nak hantar anak adalah dalam
jagaan terbaik.

3.5 Hubungan bersama ibu bapa

Puan Riana berhubung dengan ibu bapa kanak-kanak melalui call dan whatsapp untuk
memberi tahu perkembangan kanak kanak mereka di taska, dan beliau memberi tahu
kepada ibu bapa atas kejadian yang berlaku kepada kanak kanak di taska untuk tidak
membuat ibu bapa hilang kepercayaan kepada pihak asuhan. Oleh itu, pengasuh melihat
ada kesan luka di kanak-kanak lalu pengasuh memberi tahu kepada ibu bapa supaya tidak
membuat salah faham tentang apa yang terjadi.

Amalan komunikasi berkesan adalah kunci kepada kejayaan sesuatu perkongsian


atau kerjasama. Guru menggalakkan ibu bapa untuk menghubungi mereka jika terdapat
perkara yang boleh menimbulkan salah faham dan berusaha membantu menyelesaikan
atau mengambil tindakan yang sewajarnya jika terdapat kekeliruan tersebut. Di samping itu,
ibu bapa menghantar nota ringkas jika ingin berbincang tentang perkembangan dan
pencapaian anak-anak atau membuat panggilan telefon untuk membolehkan guru bersedia
dan menyiasat terlebih dahulu tentang apa yang akan dibincangkan dalam pertemuan
tersebut. Perkara yang paling penting adalah guru perlu bersedia dengan fakta-fakta yang
diperlukan sebelum berbincang dengan ibu bapa. Ibu bapa berkemungkinan ingin
memaklumkan tentang perkembangan anak mereka di rumah atau bertanya tentang apa
yang berlaku di sekolah.

Seterusnya, mengeratkan hubungan dengan ibu bapa mampu menjadikan


seseorang itu Berjaya kerana membuat baik kepada anak-anak mereka semasa berkerja.
Lalu mereka memberitahu kepada kawan-kawan sekerja untuk menghantar anak mereka di
taska Anakku kerana layanan asuhan sangat bagus untuk kanak-kanak. Oleh itu, peranan
ibu bapa amat diperlukan untuk menyokong pusat asuhan kanak-kanak dengan lebih
Berjaya.

3.6 Cabaran dan isu kanak-kanak

Puan Riana memberitahu bahawa Taska Anakku tidak pernah ada kes kes penderaan
kanak kanak setakat ini dan kakitangan di taska melayan kanak kanak dengan baik dan
lemah lembut. Oleh itu, beliau berkata kes penderaan amat kejam untuk kanak kanak lalu
beliau melayan kanak kanak dengan baik dan amanah .

Cabaran pemakanan kanak kanak adalah Pemasalahan besar berkaitan pemakanan


di kalangan kanak-kanak di taska ialah secara umumnya kanak-kanak sangat suka dan
sangat menggemari makanan segera dan lebih teruk lagi apabila sesetengah ibu bapa tidak
menghiraukan apa sahaja hidangan pemakanan anak mereka. Contoh makanan yang
kanak-kanak gemari ialah makanan ringan, berlemak, manis dan minuman berkarbonat.
Makanan tersebut ialah salah satu makanan yang tidak baik untuk diamalkan kerana boleh
memudaratkan kesihatan dan perkembangan kanak-kanak. Selain itu, Memandangkan
pengambilan makanan tidak berkhasiat yang tinggi di kalangan kank-kanak di taska
menyebabkan kanak-kanak sering tidak mendapat keseimbangan nutrisi penting dalam
pemakanan mereka. Seringkali nutrisi tertentu yang diperlukan dalam tumbesaran dan
perkembanagn kanak-kanak diambil dalam kuantiti yang tidak mencukupi. Contohnya
seperti pengambilan protin dari sumber makanan yang pelbagai. Pihak taska sendiri lebih
suka mengambil sumber protin dalam ayam dan menjadikan menu ayam sebagai protin
utama di dalam jadual Menu di taska Jika dirujuk kepada Jadual menu sediada di taska
kebanyakan jadual menu memasukkan sumber protin yang datangnya daripada ayam.
Jarang atau mungkin tiada terdapat langsung menu berasaskan ikan dalam jadual menu
kanak-kanak di taska . Selain dari itu, turut mempengaruhi menu ini ialah berkaitan dengan
tabiat kanak-kanak yang memang tidak suka makan ikan.

Kelebihan Taska Anakku adalah ini kerana kanak-kanak di kawal rapi dari segi keselamatan
dan pemakanan. Di taska juga pemakanan kanak-kanak tersebut begitu dititik beratkan
supaya mereka dapat membesar dengan sihat. Kanak-kanak akan diberi makanan
berkhasiat seperti bijirin, roti, sup sayur,daging, ayam, biskut dan bihun goreng. Di sini, kami
sentiasa memastikan makanan yang dihidangkan kepada kanak-kanak mengandungi
karbohidrat, protein, vitamin dan kalsium untuk keperluan tumbesaran mereka, Oleh itu,
kanak-kanak didedahkan dengan pelbagai aktiviti bermanfaat.

5.0 Kesimpulan

Kanak-kanak di dalam lingkungan umur di bawah 4 tahun memerlukan pendedahan kepada


pengasuhan dan persekitaran yang kaya dengan unsur pembelajaran, Mereka juga
memerlukan peluang untuk melibatkan diri di dalam berbagai jenis pengalaman.
Pendedahan dan penglibatan ini penting untuk mereka berkembang dengan sempurna.
Oleh yang demikian, segala keperluan kanak-kanak perlulah diperuhi. Taska yang berkualiti
akan melahirkan kanak-kanak yang mempunyai etika, budi pekerti yang baik serta akan
menjadi pemimpin di masa akan dating. Selaras dengan konsep masyarakat penyanyang
dan mengambilkira peningkat golongan wanita dalam sector pekerjaan, maka pihak
kerajaan menggalakkan penubuhan taska di tempat kerja selain daripada taska persendirian
yang lain.

Pengusaha-pengusaha taska juga diingatkan supaya tidak mementingkan


keuntungan kewangan semata-mata tetapi juga perlu memikirkan keuntungan jangka
panjang iaitu kanak-kanak hari ini merupakan asset terpenting Negara. Penglibatan ibu bapa
di dalam aktiviti yang dirancang oleh pihak taska amatlah digalakkan bagi membantu
perkembangan peribadi seorang kanak-kanak, Dengan adanya pusat penjaan kanak-kanak
dapat membantu dan memperkembangkan potensi-potensi amalan asuhan yang dapat
menjamin kesejahteraan kanak-kanak. Harapan saya semoga puan Riana dapat
meningkatkan profesionalisme dalam pengasuhan kanak-kanak di taskanya.
