WORK ORDER REV. NO.: 0
BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this work order is to address the engineering study and scope for the replacement of
pumps along with motor at 5 Field, including Unity, Munga, Toma South, El Toor, and El Naar. The
existing pump units in these fields require replacement to ensure reliable and efficient crude oil transfer
operations. The project encompasses comprehensive engineering analysis, cost estimation,
performance testing, and the integration of SCADA/PLC systems for monitoring and control purposes.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this work order is to conduct an engineering study for the replacement of existing pumps
complete with motors at 5 Field, including Unity, Munga, Toma South, El Toor, and El Naar. The study
aims to determine the optimum pump capacity by evaluating the existing pump capacity in relation to the
new current production capacity. The goal is to ensure that the selected pump capacity is optimized for
efficient crude oil transfer operations.
The current pumps in operation are outdated, having been designed approximately 20 years ago. As a
result, their efficiency may have decreased over time, and the fluid characteristics of the crude oil being
transferred may have changed. It is necessary to assess the performance of the existing pumps and
identify any limitations or deficiencies caused by their outdated design.
The engineering study will provide valuable insights into the optimal pump capacity, taking into account
the current production capacity, fluid characteristics, and advancements in pump technology. The findings
of this study will guide the replacement process, enabling the selection of suitable pumps that meet the
specific requirements of each field.
In line with the replacement process, the pump philosophy for each field will adhere to the following
configuration: one pump running, one pump on standby, and one pump dedicated for
maintenance. This configuration ensures continuous operation and reliability, allowing for seamless
crude oil transfer operations.
The pump philosophy, combined with the engineering study, will facilitate the selection of appropriate
pump capacities, considering the 10-year production projection, anticipated flow rates, and operational
demands of each field.

By incorporating the pump philosophy and leveraging the findings of the engineering study, the
replacement pumps will be chosen to optimize the efficiency and reliability of the crude oil transfer
operations in Unity, Munga, Toma South, El Toor, and El Naar.
CONTRACTOR will be issued with OWNER’s specifications, drawings, P&IDs and other documents for
use in the WORK. These specifications shall be used during the execution of the CONTRACT.
OWNER’s specifications shall not be changed, altered or revised, unless approved by OWNER. Any
such deviations or additions to the specifications shall be treated as a supplement to the specification.
Such supplement/amendment shall be subject to review and approved by OWNER before use.
CONTRACTOR shall produce all other material and construction specifications which are required for
completion of the WORK. Such specifications shall be produced in the same format as OWNER supplied
specifications. Complete and definitive installation details shall be required and can include vendor
documentation details.
The CONTRACTOR'S General Scope of Work under this Work Order shall include but not limited to the
following:
1) Assessment Phase:
• Conduct a thorough assessment of the existing pump units in each field.
• Evaluate their performance, identify deficiencies, and ascertain the reasons for
replacement.
• Consider site-specific conditions such as fluid viscosity, flow rates, pressure requirements,
and other operational factors.
2) Engineering Analysis:
• Perform a comprehensive engineering analysis to determine the exact specifications and
requirements for the replacement pumps in each field.
• Consider the unique characteristics and site conditions of each field.
• Evaluate pump options from the Approved Vendor List by GPOC and propose suitable
pumps that meet the specific requirements of each field.
• Produce datasheets specifying pump type(s) and technical specifications, including
capacity, power requirements, and any other relevant information.

3) Performance Testing:
• Conduct rigorous performance tests on the proposed pump models to ensure they meet
the required performance standards.
• Verify the pumps' suitability for the site conditions, including their ability to handle the fluid
viscosity and meet the desired flow rates and head requirements.
4) Cost Estimation:
• Prepare a detailed cost estimation that covers all aspects of the pump replacement project
in each field.
• Include costs for labor, materials, equipment, procurement, and any additional expenses.
• Ensure that the cost estimation is accurate and aligned with the project budget.
5) SCADA/PLC Integration:
• Propose and implement a suitable SCADA system and/or PLC configuration for effective
monitoring and control of the pump operations.
• Design and install the necessary hardware and software components, ensuring compatibility
with the existing infrastructure.
• Establish seamless communication and data exchange between the pumps, SCADA system,
and PLC, enabling real-time monitoring and remote-control capabilities.
