GUMAMELAUN - DRY DETERGENT

Introduction and Its Background

• As a child, few of us may know of how we can make bubbles out of
Gumamela. This has always amazed me. Until now. I always
wondered, why? Why does it create bubbles? That petty kid's question
is about to be answered. Not only that, I will even try to create a
product that truly has an impact, is helpful and useful, and most of all,
made naturally which makes it environmentally friendly! I am aiming
to create a laundry detergent made from the flower, gumamela. Brand
x vs Gumamelaun. A product that does not only clean your clothes'
stain, but also the environment's.

Statement of the Problem

• Because of the routine we have as individuals, we tend to be
passive about the huge impact we create on the environment upon
purchasing household materials containing harmful chemicals. In
order to solve this unaddressed issue, I decided to come up with
making a laundry detergent from a flower that is very accessible
(gumamela), and would cause less harm to the environment. The
main objective of this project is to produce a product that is a great
alternative for the traditional laundry detergents and at the same time
won't cause too much negative effect on the environment. A natural,
Flower-based detergent. Supposedly removes stain and give a
friendly natural gumamela odour without the use of synthetic
harmful chemicals.

Formulation of the Hypothesis

• Replacing the synthetic chemicals on detergents with gumamela
may result into a detergent with a low percentage of effectiveness. A
detergent that isn't good with removing stains but would STILL
work, the only upper hand is that it is indeed better for the
environment. Although there is a possibility that it shall work,
chances are low that it would work GREAT in line with the
traditional detergents that contains chemicals that is naturally made
for stain removal.
Significance of the Study
• This experiment aims to give a contribution to helping the
environment recover from pollution. We humans, tend to be ignorant
nowadays of how huge the contribution we make when it comes to
the topic ‘pollution’. We become too complaisant that the products
we use are harmless because it does the one path job it is expected to
do. But if we consider all the other factors of its ‘effect’, we realize
that it does more than just to remove the stain from your clothes, or
from the dishes, etc. So, with this experiment, I am aiming to create
something that would create a huge impact that would most likely
start a good change that could lead to something great, helpful and
continuous. This product has the objective to help people, help the
environment in an effortless and beneficial way. An alternative way
to maintain your lifestyle yet at the same time improve it. The goal is
to create something not only beneficial for today, but also for
tomorrow and in the tomorrow of the children of your children.

Scope and Delimitation of the Study

• The scope of this experiment revolves around only in manila. Since
this product is a trial, I wouldn’t want to implement it spontaneously.
Although, this is not limited to anyone, may it be children, adults, or
people on their 60s. Maybe only to people who are allergic to
gumamela and to infants whose skin is utmost sensitive at the
moment and is in need of a product that is well studied and proven to
be safe for baby’s skin— other than that this is not limited to anyone.
The approximate time this experiment shall last is probably 1-2
weeks, considering the extra time I made sure to include, just in case
it doesn’t go all smoothly.
