Transition Year Programme

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We have had another extremely busy week with a variety of additional activities in
addition to our normal classes.

We were delighted to access the Royal

College of Surgeons Debunking the
Myths: Sexual Health Webinar. This was
an informative and interactive session
where students heard from a number of
experts and used Mentimeter to answer and
pose questions.

Alex Walsh from Personal Safety worked with 4E this

week to raise both awareness and skill levels to protect
oneself both in person and online.

4A and 4B undertook their Certified First Aid courses

with Barry and AnneMarie from First Aid Coaching. This
is a wonderful skill to have and paradoxically one we all
hope to never need to use!
Another fantastic day out in the EPIC
Museum and Croke Park was enjoyed,
this time by 4D. They had the opportunity
to enjoy insights to our heritage and
culture while having fun!

So… what happens when each of the 6 th years go out
of their way to make sure that their own Debs is perfect
– with the perfect escort, the perfect dress, the perfect
night…and in Julie’s case, the perfect photos?”

Cabaret on 30th April and 1st May in our school
Assembly Hall. Tickets will go on sale 15th April
at €10 each. Presale for TY students takes place
on Friday 12th April. There are no limits (other
than the capacity of the hall!) to how many tickets
TY students are allowed to buy. Make sure to
book early as we have very limited seating and
expect the tickets to sell out fast!
 Congratulations to Alex Connolly, David Maxim, Sam Gaynor,
Helen Coyle O’Connor, Lily Byrne and Rose Costello Leavy
whose photographs have been selected for display in the
Kilcullen Photography Exhibition in Kilcullen Town hall, this
evening from 7-9pm and tomorrow Saturday from 10am to
1pm. Don’t miss the chance to see these beautiful pieces
created under the guidance of our Art Teacher Ms Lesley Kelly.

now or at some time in the future.

It is no secret that anxiety affects millions of individuals, regardless of

gender. The way anxiety manifests and is addressed can often differ
between men and women. For men, societal expectations,
stereotypes, and stigmas surrounding mental health can make
acknowledging and managing anxiety particularly challenging.

In the latest Cycle Against Suicide men’s resources, Prof. Ian Kelleher
covers the topic of ‘Anxiety in Men’, exploring its various forms, underlying causes, and
effective strategies for coping.

the show please make sure to send in an envelope with the money and
clearly marked with your son/ daughter/ student name and class.
Work Experience Week 4 and 5 beginning on Monday 20th May
Please ensure that your son/ daughter/ student completes the form on the Work
Experience Google Classroom for Week 4: 20th to 24th May and Week 5: 27th to
31st May inclusive if they have not already done so. It is vital that this form is
completed to ensure we can send the Work Experience pack to all employers.
