Note :
1. Ballast water of tanks that are intended for discharge overboard to be checked for any contamination of oil before commencement of deballasting and the
relevant checklist FORM 120 – Tanker Vessel’s Checklist Before Deballasting is to be completed.
2. Ballast overboard discharge outlet to be checked for any sighting of oil contamination soon after commencement of deballasting and logged down in port log.
Thereafter it should be checked regularly by persons engaged on deck rounds and to report any abnormality to the Duty Officer. Deballasting must be
stopped immediately if ballast water is found to be contaminated with oil.
