But the environment is becoming increasingly detached from it due to the blind rush of
economic growth except few. This horrific situation has arisen in all anti-environmental
activities, including the massive emission of greenhouse gases through the arbitrary use of
natural resources in the name of economic growth. The concept and implementation
context of green economy has emerged from the heart-wrenching call of 'Save Our Planet'
to overcome this endangered condition of the world. Considering the present phase of
industrialization scenario worldwide and to meet the needs of future generation, 4A Yarn
Dyeing Ltd. focused on eco-friendly ways of production. 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd. is situated at
Kaichabari, Baipail, Savar, Dhaka which covers an area of 558841 sft that built up in a
planned way & it is a 100% export-oriented outerwear manufacturing company, started
journey in 2009.

4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd. has prioritized the application of guidelines set by world-renowned
organizations for eco-friendly production, taking into account the demands and
requirements of buyers. 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd. is also aligned with for achieving the goals of
sustainable development 2030 (SDGS) as the factory riches its premises with affordable and
clean energy, cleaner water and sanitation, less consumption of water, less emissions of
greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs), and planting trees to be greener.

Achieving the world best Environmental Certificate of LEED Platinum:

According to World Green Building Council, a green building is one that, by its design,
construction, or operation, reduces or eliminates negative effects on our climate and natural
environment while also having the potential to create positive ones. Materials, Energy
Systems, Water Management, and Health Components are all components of green
buildings. In the light of the aforementioned topics, 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd. has adopted all of
the criteria of sustainability that are designed, built, as well as operated and achieved the
most widely used “green building certificate of LEED Platinum on 18 th January, 2022 having
in total 83 scores.

Solar Energy: Path to Gain SDG 7

In the near future, the global community will be struggling to cope with the deficiency of
energy and suffering from the shortage of natural resource as of water. In this regards,
green buildings can help us ensuring efficient usage of water and energy.

As a green project, 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd. has a smaller carbon footprint and reduced the
amount of toxins released into the atmosphere. Conventional forms of energy emit carbon
dioxide and other pollutants into the environment, while solar energy is emissions free
along with environment friendly. Rooftop solar generation is the leading strategy for
generating clean energy in the facility. Installing solar panels in the 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd.’s
rooftop is one way that we can help the world achieve its greenhouse gas emission
reduction goals and also to reduce pressure on natural resources. In addition, rooftop solar
not only benefits the environment but it can also reduce our annual energy costs.

Taking this point of view into consideration, 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd.’s sustainable initiative
program establishes goals and targets for responding to environmental impact including a
commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As a part of our energy reduction
program, the factory has already installed solar panels of having capacity 250 kW, which is
almost 20% of the total energy consumed in the facility. In addition, the factory is planning
to investing more capitals in solar in the future and to adding more clean energy into the
national grid.

Rainwater Harvesting: Path to Gain SDG 6

“Equitable access to water is very important and remains one of the major challenges for
sustainable development. Proper water resource management can play a very important
role in protecting biodiversity.” For this purpose, 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd. has constructed a
total of 12 rainwater harvesting pits to conserve water that can play an important role for
existing plants, animals, and other microbes as well as maintain balance in an environment
where utilize the resource in such a way that does not harm the environment. Moreover, 4A
Yarn Dyeing Ltd. is also contributing greatly in the achieving of sustainability that helps for
the avoidance of the depletion of natural resources and reducing the volume of water
extraction from the ground source in pursuit of maintains ecological balance. Moreover, for
collection of rainwater, it doesn’t need any energy. In this context, rainwater harvesting can
also save energy.

Here it is easily assumable that how 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd. is contributing greatly to
sustainable development through improving water management that leads to the reduction
in groundwater extraction and energy saving. It is also notable to mention that SDG 6 is
about to access to water so that rainwater harvesting contributes to this goal directly. Clean
water is one of the most imperative goals of sustainable development. The Sustainable
Development Goals address this issue in their goal number 6, which aims to: “Ensure
availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all”.
