FOLLOW -UP ACTION FOR WEEK 3 JOURNAL

ISSUE : THE CULTURE OF READING IN SCHOOLS

I will take corrective action by providing various types of English reading materials to
attract the attention of students. Not only that, I would encourage pupils to read the
reading material given individually before, during and after PdP. This can help detect
pupils who have difficulty reading and can help them. I also reward pupils who can
read clearly and correctly. This will be an encouragement for other pupils to show
their abilities.

My follow up action turn up to be very effective. The Padlets I provided, have


stimulated the pupils to read them before the PdP is conducted. This is a positive
action from my pupils. The attractive material with video and colourful pictures
motivated my pupils to read the content. This was very helpful for me to achieve my
objectives for the lesson. If pupils make reading as their passion they can excel in
writing and answering comprehension questions well. Besides that, they can gain a
lot of knowledge and prepare themselves to face the real world. As a conclusion, this
was an effective method to encourage my pupils to read.
