Biography
Dr. Abdul Ghaffar is working as an Assistant Professor of Islamic Studies, holding
charge of his department as chairman. He has Done Ph.D form Institute of Islamic
Studies, University of the Punjab, Lahore. He did not stop his learning process. Now
presently, he is doing his Post Doctorate from the institute of Islamic Thought,
International Islamic University Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has joined University of
Okara in 2019. He owns a strong profile having rich teaching experience. He started his
career as a subject specialist in his respective field i.e Islamic studies, in 2008, through
competitive examination, Punjab Public Service Commission. After completion of his
doctorate, he served as Assistant Professor in Khawja Fareed University of Engineering
and Information Technology Rahim Yar Khan, for one year. He was the pioneer to
establish the Department of Islamic Studies in the said university. Then he joined
University of Engineering and Technology Lahore and served there from 2015 to 2019.
While teaching, he wished to upgrade and enhance his teaching skill according to current
challenges, so he got M.Phil Degree in Education. Moreover, he completed advance
Arabic and English linguistic certification from country’s renowned institutions. He has
also Master in Arabic. He got Diploma of Sharia and Islamic Course, an advance level
certificate in Islamic Jurisprudence from Institute of Islamic Research, International
Islamic University, Islamabad. He has also earned degree of formal religious studies
‘Dars-e-Nizami’ More than 35 national and international research publications are on his
credit, among those some are published in impact factor research journals. Besides this,
he attended about 20 international conferences, seminars and workshops. Above all, the
writer of 7 books. He won Presidential Award in 2016 and Seert Al-Nabi Award in 2017,
for his contribution on Seerah. His area of research are Hadith and Seerah Studies, Fiqqah
ul Hadith, Shariah Law, Islamic Economics, Islamic Sociology etc. He has supervised
many research projects, among them 27 are M.Phil level. Recognition as an HEC
Approved Supervisor is his great distinctions. He is teaching and supervising PhD
students, as well.
