Leadership/Group and Project Experiences

Telescope Design, Senior Capstone Group Project Jan 2022 – May 2022
CAD designer, Simulation tester, Presentation assistant Sponsors: NASA and Autodesk
• Design the Optimized Space Telescope Structure-detector bench with Fusion 360 and Generative Design
• Sketch and assign ‘preserve and obstacle geometries’ by Extrude and Adjustment of wall thickness
• Design 5 sets of structures that meet the sponsor’s requirements, that is, under 3kg with factor of safety no less than 2;
ultimately achieve a lightweight design of merely1 kg with a high factor of safety over 5
• Seek help from NASA to add ‘point masses’ with multiple manufacturing methods (3-axis, 5-axis milling; additive)
• Choose design by analyzing scatter plot based on mass, factor of safety, max displacement of each prototype
• Run simulation tests such as thermal, static load, model frequency by Fusion 360
• Run physical static load test and model frequency test
• Pass all three simulation tests, and the results show that this project fully meets the sponsors’ requirements
• Build the full-scale physical final prototype made of Aluminum 6061 via 3-axis CNC machine from Protolabs
• Receive Second Prize of ‘Best Poster’ and Third Prize of ‘Best Video’ in all Capstone Projects

Physical 3-D printed CAD rocket design and launch Project Jan 2022 – May 2022
CAD designer, Rocket stability tester, Rocket launcher, team member
• Design half of the part of rocket: bottom, fin, lower middle parts by SolidWorks
• Build CAD model of the half part rocket by SolidWorks and do the assembly to put all 4 parts together
• Test stability of the CAD model by ‘OpenRocket’ software and adjust dimensions of each part to achieve stability of
1.5 without adding additional mass
• Assemble physical 3-D printed rocket and add fireproof web and mini parachute
• Successfully launch the physical 3-D printed rocket
• Set presentation of the CAD rocket with ‘drawing’ from the SolidWorks

E-Tech-Sketch MATLAB Project Jan 2021 – May 2021

MATLAB code writer, Assembler, picture tester, video actor
• Writing MATLAB code for representing local pictures by cross lines
• Control two motors by the Arduino and MATLAB
• Assisting to test picture quality with MATLAB and e-tech-sketch
• Running over 10 pictures to produce high quality e-tech-sketch graphs
• Acting as actor and code associate in the summary introduction e-tech-sketch video
Experiences
The Rubik’s Cube Teacher Limuxueba Jul 2019 – Aug 2019
Being a volunteer as a Rubik's Cube teacher to inspire and teach primary school and middle school kids to know all kinds of
Rubik's Cubes, I also teach them a simple way to solve a 3x3 Rubik's Cube.

Vice President, founder The Rubik’s Cube Club Sep.1st 2019- Sep.23rd 2021
At Thomas Building & Hub-Robeson Center of Penn State University, I Teach people how to solve a Rubik’s Cube by a simple
method as well as how to be a speed solver by advanced method CFOP. I also organize competitions among team members on
solving the cube.
