Dear Honourable President,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. My name is AK ARAVIND, and I am
writing to you as a concerned occupational therapist facing a significant challenge in my professional
journey.

I have completed a comprehensive 4-year and 6-month occupational therapy course, equipping me
with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve the healthcare needs of individuals in our country.
However, despite my qualifications and dedication to the field, I find myself in a difficult situation
due to the lack of a medical council or regulatory body in India that recognizes and registers
occupational therapists.

This oversight poses a significant barrier to my ability to practice occupational therapy legally and
ethically in our country. Without proper registration and recognition by a regulatory authority, I am
unable to contribute to the healthcare sector and fulfil my professional responsibilities to those in need
of occupational therapy services.

I have diligently searched for solutions and avenues to address this issue, reaching out to various
educational institutions, professional organizations, and government agencies. However, I have been
met with limited options and little guidance on how to proceed.

Given the urgency and importance of this matter, I am humbly reaching out to you, esteemed
President, in the hope that your esteemed office can provide assistance and support in resolving this
critical issue. I kindly request your intervention to explore potential avenues for establishing a medical
council or regulatory body for occupational therapists in India, thereby enabling qualified
professionals like myself to practice legally and serve our communities effectively.

Additionally, I would be immensely grateful if your esteemed office could direct me to relevant
authorities or resources that can offer guidance and assistance in navigating this challenging situation.
Your intervention and support would not only address the immediate concerns of occupational
therapists but also contribute to the advancement of healthcare services and the well-being of our
citizens.

I am committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethical practice in my field
and am eager to contribute my skills and expertise to the betterment of our society. However, I cannot
do so without the necessary recognition and registration from a competent regulatory authority.

Thank you for considering my appeal, esteemed President. I remain hopeful that your intervention
will lead to a positive resolution and enable occupational therapists like myself to fulfil our
professional aspirations and responsibilities.

With sincere gratitude and respect,

AK ARAVIND
